WHY DO SOME FIGURES TAKE PAINT BETTER.
COACHES,
Why does some figures take paint better than others ? Can the plastic be that much different. Some figures accept 1 coat on the first stroke while other fig's you may have to go over an area again. WHAT GIVES HERE ? THANX MANTARAYDRE

I always spray my figures with a flat white paint before detailing and painting. It creates a better surface for the decals to lay down easier, and for the paint to brush on. Plus all the different types of figures have different looking plastic, and I like all my figs to look the same. Hope this helps--keep up the good work.

Figures also have different degrees of "oil" in their makeup which can make a difference as well as a light coating that helps release them from the mold. Warhammer painting sites, that I have visited, always recommend a light sudsy scrub before painting.
