19Alworth71... You're absolutely right. Hopefully we'll all do a better job of this in the near future.

Hey,

I am working on a website that addresses many of these very issues. Our hobby is not really complicated, but we are functioning in the dark with a flashlight. There are treasures all around us and we just need a stronger lamp. I am trying to build a lighthouse to do exactly that.

I do agree that many vets are not doing enough. Many are more concerned with competition, tournament victories, and bragging rights than in actually providing leadership for newcomers.

We have to catch coaches while they are still in the "wow, this is cool," enthusiasm phase. You know what I mean right?

I'm still in my rookie year of active involvement and am using my own experiences as the model for how things need to change in the future.

Default New Coach

There are a lot of idea's on this game out there, but DM like he has stated is working on something.

For all new coaches and I say this with respect for all who are in this hobby. Learn what is out there. As you know there are many styles of play, many rules, etc. But your in control, remember that. Find out first hand what you want, and how you want to play. Be honest with your self, and don't take anyone's word on anything, try it your self. Then and only then will you see the truth as to what you like and how you want to play.

Also, keep in mind that when this game came out, " There were no rules, or step by step guide on how to play " !!!!!!

If I can help in any way please give me a call 703-739-6737

Hi There,

Greetings my friend. To begin with in no way are you out of line for asking the question. Whatever question you want to ask then by all means ask. If we don't know the answer then we will do our best to find someone who has the correct answer for you. For example if you have a painting or tweak question then ask it. Usually if the person who sees the question is not a good tweaker or painter they will usually forward to someone who can help you. When in doubt just ask and someone usually will help.

Default Sorry For The Insensitivity

...but you haven't even filled out your profile or identified yourself as someone who is more than a "wow, look what I found" kinda person. Nor have you asked for any nearby leagues in your area so that you could check it out for yourself. After 12 years of guys popping in and out and starting creating discourse amongst us, most of the vets ignore newbies until such time that they do what I mentioned above. Tell us a lil 'bout yourself and we'll ALL be more willing to point you in the right direction. Good Luck.

I guess you did not read my first post. This is what Im talking about. As far talking to people about this sport.I have spoken to Coach j,Mike G,Don Smith,
Bill porsche,Reginald Routledge,Glen Hardaway. and others most of these people call me on pretty regular basis.I m not trying to divide you guys.If you speak to any of the above guys they will tell you Im just the opposite.Electric football was in the stone age you guys brought it to the space age.I just dont want the new guys to be in the stone age of EF when you can encourage and educate them to the space age.Im sorry if I upset anyone. That was not the reason for the post.

Also keep in mind that it is a BUSY BUSY time of year between Christmas, football season the kids programs not to mention league games. I think you will find most people extremely helpful but not everyone checks the message board every day. For some it's once a week and it's easy to miss a post. Just keep posting and bump up your posts if you don't get the responses you hoped for. I have often posted something and had nothing happen and then two weeks later bumped it and VADABOOM...it takes off.
