Default IS THERE A LEAGUE YOUR LEAGUE CAN LEARN SOMETHING FROM

COACHES,

There are various leagues out there that are great and energitic. But we live in a world where everybody can learn something from everybody. IS THERE 1 PATICULAR LEAGUE YOUR LEAGUE CAN LEARN SOMETHING FROM.

I must start with my admiration for the coaches on the left coast. (laefl). it seems whatever they do they do it with enthisiasm. Just reading there post and following some of there projects. they make you feel proud to be involved with this hobby. I was very impressed with a post shabby j wrote on the meeting there league had to discuss the upcoming season. Shabby said the room was filled with excitement. (THAT'S HOW EVERY COACH IN EVERY LEAGUE MUST FEEL TO HAVE A POWER LEAGUE) . When your gameday's are approaching, do you feel you cant wait to get it on. or are you just going through the motions.

a big question is, do you just feel burned out sometimes that zaps your enthusiasm ?

WHAT LEAGUE DO YOU ADMIRE ? WHAT ARE THEY DOING YOU WISH YOUR LEAGUE WOULD DO ?

Also, you must move with the times. So what subtle changes are being made for the betterment of your league ?

MUCH ADMIRATION FOR OUR LEAGUE ON THE HOLLYWOOD STRIP !!!!!

Default Very good post

I just had a conver sation with a guy yesterday about the very same thing.

Other then formation, he agreed that it teaches them nothing about actual football.

Tell me what you have learned about football from the styles that you have played in.

Default Geno makes a great point

I remember sitting in many engineering classes asking many questions. Some students shook their head, thinking "How dare you" and others "were thinking, thanks for asking that question".

You learn so much about the game by watching other leagues and their members. I am not arrogant enough to think I can not learn something. Everytime I get around guys in the game, I learn. Jim Davis and I learned stuff from each other. He learned about physics in players and I learned about bases. I've learned about organization from the ACEFL. I've learned from the BEFL, the DFW, LAEFL, and many others.

I know a lot but I don't know everything and one of the fun things about hanging out with guys is that even when playing around, I still take bits of information from them. They are all my teachers.

Default interesting question

I don't know if admire is the right word, but I like all the leagues that can finish a season with whatever number of coaches available!!!

I know that I learn a lot from just watching others go about their way of play.....

It's too bad that some would miss out some action because they think they have learned it all and things are "beneath them."

Default learned some thing s everywhere.

coaches,

Joining the MPFL does teach you more about football as you watch the dvd and prepare your team for the league. Things are done quite different in that league that no other league does at this point. being out in texas at reg's house teaches you alot about miniature football as a whole when the DFW is in full operation during a game day. I think all coaches can learn from another coach what makes them so passionate about playing. Then try and match that passion with yours. There are many coaches who secretly go through the motions in a league because maybe they are intimdated and overwhelmed. They could be unsure of there skill level and wonder if they belong. Ofcourse they will never say anything due to embarrassment.

HOW WOULD YOU TEACH A COACH HOW TO HANDLE WINS AND LOSES /

A coach could get destroyed in a game early on and that may cause him to go into a shell for the rest of the season. I guess you can learn how to win and lose by watching other coaches win and lose. See how they handle it in a league like yours.

EACH LEAGUE IS UNIQUE JUST BECAUSE THEY FORMED A LEAGUE WITH WHAT WE DO.

IS IT ABOUT WINNING CHAMPIONSHIPS OR IS IT ABOUT OPERATING AS A LEAGUE FOR YOU PERSONALLY ?

Default gr8 topic....

As a realativly new coach i think that people get to wrapped up in the hype and in themselfs. i think people tend to look right past the point of this hobby and how it was designed. You have to remember this gr8 game was designed and a GAME FOR CHILDREN...not grown men and is supposed to be fun, when it stops being fun then you should stop for awhile and re-evaluate how you look at this game and how you approach it.
That being said, i am in one of the most interesting leagues in the nation (laefl) but i still look at the TEXAS boys and what they do in awe and amazement. Everyone i have met from there all have a passion and desire in this game that is very contagious and makes you WANT to play. And they are always humble even when beating the snot out of you
so my hat gets tipped to TEXAS and the DFW.
