Default Review of Available Custom Boards

Am looking at taking the plunge from the old Rose Bowl Miggle board to any of the custom boards out there. I specifically need a link (or reply) to either the 308 Gameboard (from footballfigure.net), RollerBoard, Monster Board.

I specifically need to know any personal experience with these boards (or others I am not aware of). Are there dead spots? Did the $ you spend seem to equal the quality? I am aware that these boards range from $400 to $1200and I will take that into consideration.

Were you pleased with the surface? Was it a sheet metal board or the new fiberplastic as advertised. Did any one of these boards have a feature you considered of paramount importance? Quietness of motor? Frame? etc.

Thanks for the replies, ladies and gentlemen.

Ragukidl

Bill Porshe makes those field and they run great , very fast.

The problem is getting one , I talked to Bill last year and he was doing some school and had no time at that point to make the boards
He may be free now I have not checked back with him.

I've actually not played on any of the boards you mention as of yet, although, one of our league mates has a rollerboard and I very much look forward to playing on it.

I play mostly in the south and play on a lot of locally built boards by Charles Lane from Tenn...I am not even sure he supplies boards via mail, etc. All of Charles' boards run nice and my teams "track" as they do on my 620.

Now, just to throw a another at ya, the best boards I have played on. ~1 1/2 years league play, have been Bruce Wattz painted fields power either by a Gotham or (2) Miggle/Tudor motors.

For me, I just find the painted surface is always a "tad" faster/smoother than any cover but I do have and enjoy both.

Hope that helps....

You get what you pay for... you wanna cut corners and getta cheap priced board that has dead spots? or play on a MONSTER BOARD that has NO DEAD SPOTS....
I was penny pinching when I just got back in this Hobby, and got stiffed, I was told the 620 was the biggest board out there when I was looking for the Rams VS Steelers SuperBowl Table top in the late 70's and gotta earlier table top no where near that size I was requesting..
So... yeah be aware...be very closely aware you could get stiffed...
I tried one more time to trust. Bill Porche came through telling me to do it his way and I couldn't go wrong. So, I got my ownself in believing I could build like he requested I do, and now i'm a serious monster board Fan like no other!!
Then only Flaw... is I can't find any more Rheostat's from the company that used to sale them.
I gotta lead in Colorado that another Coach found some, but hasn't finished making his Monster Board to tell me if it's good or not to use...
To Be Continued.. I bet if you built it, it would be even cheaper!? cutting out the middle man!!!.. Start trusting your self to produce a product you can be 100% proud of... it's always a chance you got it in you... Go MONSTER BOARD!!!

AMEN!

I am building my first board using what Billy taught me and what Rick Garrison taught me, it is going to be sweet, but I bet as it sits right now 80%finished I have appx $300 in materials cost.

I see now where the Field of Dreams cost is where it is, I love my Field of Dreams but need a smaller field to haul to game day.

Check your PM IVSOPTIONS!
