Default Need some help...uploading videos to Youtube

I am having problems uploading a Quicktime video onto Youtube...can this be done or do I have to convert it to something else?

I saw Jimbo's Army Wishbone video...very cool!

I was trying to load the "play" that deceided the 2008 Arch City Huddle Championship...it is something to see...

Any help would be appreciated!

Default Steps Taken

Silverhorse,

What steps have you taken so far? Have you set up a YouTube account?

Maurice,

I have setup a Youtube account and attempted to download a Quicktime video, but I received an error message saying it was incapatable with their site. How do you convert a Quicktime video to something else? What video types can be downloaded? Do they just use Windows Media or is there some other format?

Matt

Default More Info Needed

That’s it. The fact that you downloaded a video will cause YouTube to reject any attempts to upload such a video. YouTube will allow only videos that you created. Based on your thread, the video belongs to Jimbo. You can have Jimbo export the video to a MPEG format and upload the video.

How did Jimbo produce this video? Did he use a video editing software package? Did he shoot the video then save it on his computer and upload it as a file? I need more information.

Maurice

NO, Jimbo did not help me (yet)...I just said I viewed his video, then I deceided to try setting up my own account and doing my own video.

I just got off the phone with Jimbo, however, and he is taking a look at the video for me to see if he can format it in a way that it will work...

I am sure between the three of us we can figure it out....

I will let you know what Jimbo comes up with...I might still need your expertise if we can't get it...

Default Matt, can you convert it...

to a wave file? If so, that may be an easier method.

Do you have a recording software program you are using?
