Flesh Tone Paints
Coaches,
Looking for receommendations on a good skin tone for caucasian / white players. Have used a Mike Beal tone for several years but just struggle with it going on as smooth as I like it to. Currently using a Tamiya paint - Green X-5 for the bases a really like it. Noticed on their website they have an XF-57 Buff and an XF-15 Flat Flesh. Anybody out there used these? Any good? Again, looking for a good skin tone that covers well and goes on smooth. Thanks |

Skin Tones.....
I use Model Master skin tones. They go on smooth
and cover very well. Most hobby shops, like HobbyTown USA carry them. All the ones mentioned are good.It just comes down to personal choice I guess and maybe how easy they are to find in your area. You can always order these things on line,if push comes to shove. SEMPER FI, Chris Stacey Hampton,VA |

Yes, I used this paint on several of the white guys for my latest Patriots team and I really liked it. I also use a Tamiya flat brown for the dark skin of a few black guys. Make sure to mix it with a tootpick for maximum coverage, otherwise it can tend to be a little thin. I couldn't find any skin tones in the model masters skin brand at my local hobby store. In general I really like the model masters paint too. For skin tones I figure its never bad to have too many to try from so I'd recommend giving it a shot. Its actually kind of fun to have various white guy and dark guy skin tones to create uniqueness for each player, especially when you are really trying to nail the essance of a certain player.

Skin Tones.....
Yeah, I do the various skin tones for the black
players because some are lighter or darker but for the white guys I go with one tone.I believe it's called "warm-tint" ( Model Master)I know it when I see it.I'll also use several shades of tan for Hispanics or Pacific Island races. I can find all in Model Master brand at my local Hobby Town USA.But as has been stated, there are many usable brands ,so find one you like and do your thing..... SEMPER FI, Chris Stacey Hampton,VA |
