history/ knowledge of other games
I cant seem to google a game I used to have. It was from 60s or early 70s. Where there was a raised board and players with magnets on the bottom and you had sticks with magnets to move the players. anyone remember/know about this ? I also think I remember a football game where some players had little wheels on the bottom and the field was a matt you put down .....?
can I still find them ? what was their name/title ? |

At the convention in Detroit , one of the Detroit coaches had this game set up . I think it is called coleco total control football. I hope someone will post a pic
Great name Harold Jackson was one of my favorite receivers back in the day ! |

I had the coleco complete control game. Each side had one extended handle that reached undeer the board. It had a magnet that would allow you to control one of your players. If you moved it too fast you would lose your guy though. The other game mentioned was made by Marx and had 3-4" players on about a 6 foot mat. You see it on EBAY once in a while. The players were yellow and red and the kicker/qb was about 9" tall.

Coleco Game
I had that one too...interesting concept that never quite panned out.
Do I remember that game correctly as having the 2 piece players that were molded with different color upper and lower halves? I think that's how they were. |

Marx Play Action Football
You are looking for Marx Play Action Football. The players were approximately 4 to 5 inches tall in red and yellow. The field was a large mat you would spread out on the floor. It had a combination QB/K with styrofoam footballs. The running back had a wind up base and the defenders had bases you would push to make a TACKLE, literally. The offensive/defensive lineman had 3 holes in their bases and a plastic green line of scrimmage with small notches or pegs the lineman would set up on. Depending on how they were set the offensive line would swing open like a door when the back hit the hole. There is one for sale on ebay now.
