Default PUNTING THE FOOTBALL IN SOLITAIRE

COACHES

This is how i will be handling punts in my style of play

***There will be no return ON PUNTS. ALL FAIR CATCHES DUE TO THE SYSTEM.

I will have 10 TWEAKED BASES all tweaked differently. These ten bases will look exactly the same. Why ? i want to be surprised by the kick (performance) of each base as it happens. We all know punters have good and bad kicks all the time. YOU NEVER KNOW UNTIL EACH KICK. Some bases will be great kicks that run straight end zone to end zone. Some bases will veer off at 15, 25, 45 50 yards etc etc. 15 represents a shank. 25 yards represents just a bad kick.
I will have 2 SPECIAL BASES THAT MOVE BACKWARDS.
1) 1 REPRESENTS A BLOCKED KICK
2) 1 REPRESENTS THE BALL BEING HIKED TO FAR OVER THE PUNTERS HEAD.

**WHEN THESE 2 BASES COME UP, I WILL USE THE MPFL FUMBLE (LOOSE BALL RULE).

1)STOP THE BOARD
2)TAKE A FELT FOOTBALL AND TOSS IT IN THE AIR
3)WHERE THE BALL BOUNCES AND SETTLES, IT WILL BE REPLACED BY A STATIONARY FOOTBALL (BALL ON TOP OF A PUSHPIN).
All players will be adjusted to recover the loose football.

1)if the kicking team recovers the lose ball, it is down at the spot of the recovery.

2)if the receiving team recovers the loose football, they can return it towards the endzone until they score or they are tackled

**what's cool is i have a nice punter figure i got from 5-13, I will place one of the ten bases on him when it is time to punt.

PUNT :

GRAB A BASE FROM THE BOX (1-10 BASES)
CLEAR THE MIDDLE OF THE FIELD
PLACE PUNTER DOWN TO KICK (RUN BALL DOWN FIELD TO SIMULATE THE PUNT)
TURN ON THE BOARD AND SEE WHAT KIND OF PUNT I WILL GET.

**the key is, i have no idea what's going to happen because all the bases look exactly the same.

The board will run for 2 to 3 seconds

What will bel fun also, i will be able to angle kick (point base to run out of bounds at the 2-5 yard line) . Will the punt be a good kick, you never know until it happens.

Default Interesting........

.......idea. My only concern is this. If you have one base for blocked kicks and another for bad snaps are they two of the ten or does that make twelve?

Either way; two out of ten or two out of twelve seems like a high probablility of a block/bad snap. It would be interesting to look into the odds of a punt actually being blocked.

Plus, some bases, like you said, will veer off at 15, 20, 25.....That leaves somewhere around half of the bases available for the punt that are 'not good' results for the punting team. I like those odds if I'm receiving.

I love the idea though. At this point I actually punt the ball away with a TTQB. I do have some rules in place that promote consistancy however.

Default drk

coach

The 2 bases that will move backwards will be part of the ten,
I may just have 2 that veer off.
The other 6 will be booming end zone to endzone kicks.

If someone else is interested in this idea, they can set it up how ever they want.
1 backward base
1 base that veers

Thats the beauty of solitaire, you set things up how you see fit.
