good one Norbert..... But you make a case for just about any of the great ones crossing over to play in an different era. I still feel tha tJim Brown would still be very effective playing today, you forget he was still fast. The idea of Barry playing in those days would have meant that he would have been running from tradition offensive sets... would have loved to see that.

When the Lions made it to the NFC Title game against the Redskins, They refused to open up the offense and toss the ball around. They perfered to just see what Barry could do. The next year, they did very little to improve the team to get past the Redskins (desending) and Cowboys (assending) that cost Barry playing any longer than He wanted to .........:( :(

Hard to compare players from different eras but I have to agree here. Jim Brown is an icon but Barry is the best ever.

The only player that could move like Barry was Gayle Sayers, they both had the knack to make players look like they didn't belong on the same field w/them. But they both also had the speed from a dead stop to outrun most of the defensive players. Its hard to decipher whose the greastest, but Norbert has a point, had he played behind the Steelers line, Payton's line, or the Cowboys line he may have played an extra 5 years and blown all the current records out of the water. IMHO, he was the most creative back I ever saw play, I just love that shoulder dive one direction start the other direction and then reverse spin, thats PRICELESS!!! Thanks Norbert, that gave me goose-bumps.
