Dimitri, that flat out ROCKS!

I'm telling ya'all that if we get more of the wargaming community involved in this hobby, things will never be the same....the wargamers have been up on this stuff since the 70's and are light years ahead and as they get into this hobby, we are going to see some amazing things happen with scenery and custom figures....if only my eyes were what they were when I was 30....sigh!

I'm lucky since I'm myopic ! It helps to work on details (seriously, I'm not joking, I readed a thing about it).

When you become older, the natural presbyopia become a nightmare to do what I'm doing. THe only way you can manage with that, is the binocular glasses (allowing your eyes to work in "stereo"....I'm not kidding too :D ).



You've got the vision. For me, it's obvious that "classic" modelling should bring MF a lot of good stuff.

Hi,


So I finished the pre-paint job on the figure.

I started by removing the flashes and molding lines with a xacto and USEFULL trapezoidal razor blades (I use it for a lot of things, but it's difficult to find, it's used for classic book making, leather work, etc...). (pic1)



Then I sanded the defects with 320 fine sandpaper. (pic2)

After that, I GENTLY washed the figure with an old teeth brush, water and soap. (pic3)

Once dried, I applied a coat of primer spray can paint. I used some acrylic/alcohol based car primer. (pic4)

Everytime, test the products before use it, it can ruin the fig. The best product for this job is miniature figures spray can.

The advantages of make a primer coat are obvious : make a good flat base for paint, and reveal defects and mistakes too, so you can fix them before painting.

SO here's the result. I love this stage when I make a modelling project (figure or scenery). The whole project I had in mind suddently reveals itself.

Once correctly dried, I'll sand the last defects and molding lines I didn't see the first time, then...I'll paint the figure.
