Now when you say tough I think of hard hitting machines? In that case I will give you 3 of my all time favorites.

1. Eugene Lockhart(56)MLB
2. Chuck Cecil(26) Safety
3. Andre Waters(20) Safety. I think his first name is Andre, not too sure but he played for the Eagles.

All 3 of these guys would be right at home on the HITMEN!

Nasty players , Hitters

ALZADO 77 ATWATER 27 BEDNARIK 60 BUTKUS 51 CECIL 26 MIKE CURTIS 32 GREENE 75 KEN HOUSTON 27 HUFF 70 TOMBSTONE JACKSON 87 DEACON JONES 75 LAMBERT 58 NIGHT TRANE LANE 81 LEWIS 52 LOTT 42 LYNCH 47 Nitschke DONNIE SHELL 31 TATUM 32 LT 56 WATERS 20

Wheres Brett Favre on this list? How many other QBs do you know that start more than 260 straight games, lead blocks on linebackers, and jaws face to face with 300 pound lineman (Chris Hovan, Warren Sapp the enitre Lions football team, etc.) If you had to pick a QB, pick Favre.

SteelerFan1967 01-14-2008 05:27 PM

Favre

I agree about Favre...but I think he was looking for non-active players...

WallyJ 01-14-2008 05:47 PM

Pound for pound Larry Wilson of the Cardinals. Plus Jack Tatum of the Raiders.

4th & 26 01-14-2008 07:52 PM

LB Ray Nitschke
WR Tommy McDonald(last non-kicker not to wear a facemask)

canadatabletopgames 01-14-2008 08:08 PM

my choices go to..

Mean Joe Greene, Earl Campbell and Brian Urlacher

simple as that...

GUTTMANN 01-14-2008 08:57 PM

Hands down,
Tatum!

Badger4Life 01-14-2008 09:10 PM

I may have missed this one, but I haven't seen Jack Youngblood (DE #85) from the Rams on anybody's list. Anybody who plays in the super bowl on a broken leg not named T.O. is very tough. For lack of a better term, he's got some balls.

NEW CASTLE HiTMEN 01-15-2008 08:37 AM

Keep them coming. I also want to do special teams.
Staring Defense
DE-Ray Nitschke
DT-Joe Greene
DE-Reggie White-Why. Out of respect
LB-Lawrence Taylor
LB-Mike Singletary
LB-Jack Lambert
LB-Dick Butkus
S-Ronnie Lott
S-Jack Tatum
CB-Steve Atwater
CB-Mel Blount
Now I know Atwater and Nitschke didnt play at those positions but how can I leave them out. I do need offensive players including a QB. I wanted all retired players but the QB may be tough to decide. Also, no wide receivers. What I have so far.

RB-Walter Payton
FB-Mike Alstott
TE-Mark Bavaro
WR-Larry Csonka
WR-Jim Brown
C-Mike Webster
G-Conrad Dobler

SteelerFan1967 01-15-2008 08:48 AM

WRs

Tough call there...

Too bad you can't use active players....

I'd go to WAR with Hines Ward anyday...

Guys from the past...hmmmm...

I know he wasn't always thought of as physically tough...but mentally, Rice had to be the toughest WR of all time...he just didn't let anybody get to him...

bigdawg43 01-15-2008 08:48 AM

Why is

Deacon Jones not on the list????? I know you all have seen the films he is a serious BEAST!!!!

NEW CASTLE HiTMEN 01-15-2008 09:24 AM

Already have a #75 with Joe Greene. Would be good on special teams.

kotixblack 01-15-2008 03:51 PM

Jim Otto (00) Center - Raiders
Joe Kapp (11) QB - Vikings (look @ t Superbowl Footage -V- Chiefs. Starter or not, I've never seen a QB take such shots, get up bloody & limping, but continued to play...WOW)
Ted Hendricks (83) LB - Raiders
Earl Campbell (34) RB - Oilers
Pat Fischer (37) DB - Redskins
