How about a National Miniature Football league

Guys I think the time is right to talk about a national tournament played with the winners from each league nationally that would inter this type of system maybe on the shootout rules??

jeff 10-23-2008 11:48 AM

Sounds good to me . Not too sure about the shootout rules though. I do agree to use whatever rules everyone decides on though.

Jimmie, as a coach...

I've got my hands full dealing with 3 leagues!

The DFW, CBSMF, and the BAM. I will be playing in all 3 of these leagues this year. I know our CBSMF League is gonna have anywhere from 70 coaches up (if all verbals commit to playing). I know the BAM will have a wide range of characters coming from some regional parts of the country.

So, I for one, will get enough MF playing in these 3 leagues. But hey, that's just one voice.

National Tourney

Sounds like a great idea. To have the champion from each league meet to play for title of National Champion! thmbsp$

jimmie 10-23-2008 03:11 PM

Thats what I mean

A National Champion well guys are playing in all kind of leagues why not take a winner from each league and have a playoff for national champion!!

TVsCHACHI 10-23-2008 03:35 PM

That is a GREAT Idea!

Correct! There is the NHFL which is 3.3 weight. And in the works is the CBSMF
which will be at 4.0 grams. So what we are all wishing for is already in place in both weight formats. We just need to support it and be a part of it! thmbsp$

Actually...

I beg to differ with you George and Geno. I believe "jimmie" is talking about a gathering of all "League" Champions from across the land and have them participate in something you would perhaps call the "Tournament of Champions." To make it a lil more interesting I would also include all Tournament champions as well.

Now, if that's clearly understood, the next step is the rule-set. The only thing I could think of is setting it up similar to the MFCA convention, where everyone would play at least one game under a different rule-set.

Anything other than that would probably not get much support. Someone would ultimately feel slighted if bits and pieces of various different rule-sets were used to make one rule-set.

There has to be a way to keep the all-inclusive theme going. I know if we keep at it, eventually, we will get there.

yes Adrian that right

The Tourney of Champions I like that lets make that happen I will sponser it here in Detroit with help!!Lets form a committee!!!

artlax 10-23-2008 07:47 PM

Once again...

for clarity.

I think a National Championship Tournament - with the champions from each league across the land.

Not talking about another league - I understand the NHFL thing - that is not what Jimmie is talking about.

Once again - I think it would be a great idea.

Geno H 10-23-2008 07:55 PM

Adrian,
I will stand corrected but the question then was not asked clearly. It did say a national "League" and stated the "shootout rules".

Whatever it is I will support what the coaches want. No arguement here.
I think we know each other well enough to know I just love to play the game. Remember..... YOU have alot to do with that. You have talked me off the cliff before.:D

Cool Beans!

Yo Geno,

It's all good, man. I can't wait to get on the board with you again. BTW, I will be initiating an order soon for some of your F-5 bases.

As for the "Tournament of Champions,” this would be a huge feat. Not sure if it would ever be pulled-off, but if so, I think it would take relentless efforts by many relative newbies (impartial minds) and it would have to also involve the unwavering approval and support (several ways to support including financial) of the following coaches and the leagues they represent:

Reginald Rutledge (and the DFW)
George Diamond (and the Harrisburg League)
Paul Bartels (and the NHFL)
Eric Robinson (and LAEFL)
Greg Hardmon (and the Detroit/Great Lakes massive)
Tom Johnson (and the DC Crew)
Jasper Long (and the Dirty South)
Bryan Nutt (and the Dixie League)
Corey Johnson (and the Philly Peeps)
Geno Hendricks (and the Tornado Alley League)
Lynn Schmidt (and the MFCA)
Don Smith (and the TBA)
Artlax (and the CYNEFL)
Morgan/Wally (and the BAM)
Jeff Priest (and the Mid-Ohio League)

and a few more that I just can't think of right now.

It would be very difficult to get a few of the aforementioned coaches on the same page, but that is what I think would have to happen for this to work. Who knows... maybe it would take a much simpler and less organized effort. These are just my opinions based on the things I’ve witnessed and experienced since 2003.

PS
Sorry if I got some of the names wrong.
