Default decals printed

The decals are printed, and drying ! Perhaps I'll be able to finish tonight

Since I don't have any white paper, I printed the numbers on a orange background. Once I'll cut the decals, I'll paint in white rough numbers or stripe directly on the fig, then stick the decal on. It should do the job

Default Not a good idea...

I almost ruined one of the figs

I tried that decal technic, and it gave poor results. The decals are transparent, so the color parts of it appears too dark (tone on tone), and the transparent parts are just not good enough.

SO I fixed the figure paint, remover everything except the helmets decals. Modelling is all about that type of problems : take hours to do something, then ruin it in a couple of minutes

SO... I'll finish the figures like a warrior, painting free hand

To be more specific, I'll use the same technic I use on my Niners : peel and stick stickers, modified to be integrated in the paint job, making them almost invisible.

To make the thing more fun, I'll add a red outline on the jersey numbers with free hand painting. But I will not add names on the jersey, my preview tries are not good enough, and I want to keep the figures with the best result I can.

To be continued... here's a little pic of the only good decals work I did this evening :

EDIT : When the things goes wrong... I realized that I sticked the decals in the wrong direction I' ll do it again.

Default outlining done

Hi,

Today I made the red outline on the jersey numbers. The figures are drying (I "dip" the numbers in thick mat medium to integrate them).

Today I'll complete the painting process with the arms straps and the shoulder numbers. The shoulders numbers will be a tuff job, since I'll do red outline too, and they will be hand painted.

to be continued...
