The key is the rules set for a final event, as Wolf says. To get people involved throughout, each tourney should be able to use the rules it currently does. Like I've said in the other thread about this, no tourney during the "season" should preference because of its rules set. Points are equal for all, based on the guidelines of giving people notice of the event, having the minimum number of players, etc.

Itll be easy for any particular vendor to serve there personal agenda, the Idea hear is to not only cater to your base, but adopt a broader vision which includes the Hobby as a whole. Us customizers must begin to shape the Hobby, in a way that furthers the Hobby not just are own personal goals. If that means changing the size of my boards I'm with that and so on, Now can we get others to do the same. The days of letting someone else worry about that, is going to kill us, the MFCA has to lay down a set of rules, sign on players, then take those dates already there as, hard dates for league play, those that dont agree so be it, but the time has come. Those that sign on is strictly voluntary, no need to include everybody, were looking for those who would travel anyway. Wishing & hoping is not going to make it happen, the guy that says not me, push him aside & keep on moving. The heads of these Tournaments really need to look at this, for without them its over, The MFCA can only do so much, the hobby cant support any other dates on the calender, its up to you guys. My guess is theyll protect there own piece as usual, maybe they wont, we'll see.

The one advantage the MFCA has it is not beholden to any product. To be honest I am really SICK and TIRED of people stating if Miggle did it for their product, I am doing it for my product type of situations. Buzzball Tournaments seem gone, "long live Buzzball". Miggle Tournaments were almost seems gone and a last minute heartfelt plea kept it from being gone. At some point we will be saying "long live Miggle". We haven't seen, always heard via inquires, etc, of the Shoot-out revival but as of now, "long live Shootout"! Like Wolf stated I believe, the CBSMF is it's own entity initiated by a sponsor. No problems with that and I am sure it will run it's course from what I have seen. The MFCA has the staying power as what they bring to the table is neither arbritrary or capricious.

Now I know that you are all going to be surprised to hear this from me but most every product or company got their start from where? Miggle Tournaments. Subsequently all those who met at the Tournament, some becoming competitors, took factions with them to various parts of the country. Now, you have the second generation taking up the same position.

To stop this, we must get the guys that are truly hobbyist, that is guys who play for the love of the game, not glory, involved. Present the opportunity for them to bring their league to a fair unbiased tournament. Get some minor restrictions on the more ridiculous figures, like cover corners with arms extended to a base length or 12 inches tall. Other than that let the game play on.

Like you said Bruce, the best of the best have to step up and be a part of this for it to work. The ruleset has the be followed the minute you step into the building.

There are some rulesets that present the fast pace which is great for getting things done timely. Having said that I don't feel that one ruleset makes it work. The NEFL ruleset is great but you can attribute my rapid adjustment to playing for 41 years competitively, including my horrid passing display. There are just some things that an inexperienced coach would not partake in.

Just my thoughts.

THIS IS WRITTEN IN MY OWN OPINION. I once saw this game as a hobby. I would go down the basement and paint and collect and run some plays. My nephew would come over and play a game. After awhile he would say, I knew you were going to pass. I would say to him I knew you were going to run. It became kinda boring. We would look at this site and see all these guys having fun and competing as we just sat back and looked at all our stuff. Then one day Nico said "Whats the use of having all this stuff and not doing anything with it". Thats when we decided to join a league. Its the COMPETITION that is now fueling MY FIRE. If we would come together as a gaming type of sport then maybe we can have what Bruce is refering to.

Key word there. Follow the rules, enjoy the game, play to win. Have a drink, of whatever. Just that simple.

Default what ken mega and wolf

coaches,

exactly what ken, mega and wolf are stating. You know what the problem is. We keep discussing this, but the people who have the keys to the nuke's won't turn them. ken allen, wolf, effanatic are great leaders. may you guys just pick a ruleset, AND TURN THE KEYS. we will all follow suit and things will build from their. Whoever is not interested, the majority will out number the minority. book it and they will come. You can't worry about someone feeling left out or stepped over. This is the MFCA, not any one company. we will find out who honors the word " fellowship ". You dont have to get on board but you have every opportunity just like everyone else. There is one way for many to stop feeling we are beating dead horses.

TURN THE FREAKING KEY ALREADY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If coaches turn on there computers one day and see mfca official rules, WITH A SEAL ATTACHED TO IT, They will know the mfca means business.
Not just put out a rule set and say, we are playing by these rules.
Just like the mfca has a logo, solitaire coaches/leagues have a logo. We need to see an official stamp indicating we mean business.

Please suprise us one morning when we awake. Whatever is decided, the coaches will accept them because they know official minds are behind official business.

Exclamation An uneasy position

It would be easy for me to just focus on my own interest, but to what ends, if it doesnt progress the game, as a lagitimate, self sustaining "Hobby & or Sport". The problem is not the efforts but the focus of those efforts, we can continue to wish, but unless real cooperation is achieved, between various Organizers, there will always be a void. Those of us who, hold the trust of the masses, which can be narrowed down to a hand full of people, has to take the lead, no matter what POLITICAL COSTS involved. Im not talking about revamping everything u do, just to support a larger vision of things, based on existing dates, tournaments, & regions. The foundation is already there, to take advantage of it is another matter. For starters, those of u that have dates already circled on the callender, would this be something for u? as I have stated, this is a top down approach, those of us that rely on others support to do what we do, must begin to work towards a common goal. The days of "MY" has to pass for no 1 single Company, Customizer or Organizer has the power or resources to do it alone.

What Is SO wrong with the what the MFCAL is doing? Why not keep it like it is and then the final two competitors playing in the championship game choose the ruleset.....We already have a system in place just honor it.......but like Dre said TURN THE KEY...somebody do something......

Theres nothing wrong with things as they are, my interest is soley to change to perception of the game from Hobby that doesnt work, to Lagitimate Sport, along the lines of fooz ball, billiards ect. to add Credibility. Its easy to say leave as is, and for those that are happy with that ok, but if u really want to grow the Hobby, the perception has to change. Is it neccesary? not if your happy with us being the last, because we are a dieing breed. It's very neccessary if u want the game to even exist 20 yrs from now, the public perception has to change. Every fad comes and goes, ares went back in the 80's, I plan on being ready when it comes back around, if theres nothing there then what? Like I said this isnt for everyone, nor do u want everybody, only those that make it a habbit to travel to play MF.
