Great argument. This is what I'm looking for. I may have to agree with you on todays players. Only Ware and Witten to mention as todays stars. Bobby Layne was a reach going back that far and most of his great stats were with another team but a fact nonetheless. I will list my all-time Cowboy lineup. All who disagree put up your teams best 22 to compare. Here we go.

OFFENSE

QB- Troy Aikman
RB- Emmitt Smith
FB- Moose Johnston
WR- Michael Irvin
WR- Drew Pearson
TE- Jason Witten
T- Erik Williams
T- Larry Allen
C- Mark Stepnoski
G- Rayfield Wright
G- Ralph Neely

DEFENSE

DT- Bob Lilly
DT- Randy White
DE- Charles Haley
DE- Harvey Martin

LB- Demarcus Ware
LB- Chuck Howley
LB- Lee Roy Jordan

CB- Mel Renfro
CB- Deion Sanders
S- Cliff Harris
S- Darren Woodson

Tough to beat this lineup.

Wow. Don Hutson was one of the greatest recievers of all-time and very underrated when it comes to the all-time lists. I knew I'd get a strong argument from the Steeler fans. Until the 70's the Steelers were terrible so think about all the great players that have played for them in the last 40 years. That is impressive. The Cowboys came into the NFL in 1960 so all of their stars are from the last 50 years. Let's not forget the great players from the AFL as well. I am waiting to hear from the Raiders, Colts, Rams, Vikings, Dolphins, and Giants fans.

Default All the Stars

The greatest thing about all of these legendary teams and players is that they can still play in Miniature Football Leagues today.

I think we will all agree on this.

Long live the MFCA.

Just off the top of my head, and some of the positions aren't specific:

QB - Bradshaw
RB - Harris
RB - Bettis (tough to leave my boy Bleier off)
TE - Nickel (played in the '50s, considered the best at the position in club history.)
WR - Stallworth
WR - Ward (I'd take him over Swann, but you couldn't go wrong either way)
OL - Webster, Kolb, Dawson, Faneca, Ilkin

DL - J. Greene, White, Greenwood, Stautner (Hampton is tough to leave off here, as is Holmes)
LB - Lambert, Ham, Lloyd (I mean, this doesn't even do it justice. K. Greene, Russell, Harrison, etc.)
DB - Polamalu, Shell, Blount, Woodson (you ain't passing against this group, and this doesn't even include Wagner, Lake, or Butler!)

Special Teams/Reserve Offense-Defense: Bill Dudley.

Other franchises may have more offensively - but I don't think there's anything that compares to this group defensively, especially considering the quality of players I couldn't even include.

All-Time? Browns or Bears, then Steelers, Cowboys or Vikings.

Bruce Laird in the defensive backfield.
Lydell Mitchell at RB and Raymond Chester at TE.

Default Da'Bears

According to the HOF website, the Bears have 26 players inducted as Bears. Some other teams have as many total, but they have the most from thier team.

I can't believe no one thought of Sweetness. Just by himself he should count.

I have to agree this is an interesting thread.
