Default My last 4 conference teams on the way

Hi,

I create this topic to show you the building of my last 4 conference teams. All based on miggle standard figs, like the 2 main teams.

The choice is (perhaps there will be some changes, I have to check the paints available) :

Purdue Boilmakers (home uniform)
texas long horn (home uniform)
washigton huskies (home purple uniform)
Penn State (home blue uniform)

I started by building the teams compositions. I used 5 bags of standard figures, spreaded to be as similar as possible with the 2 current teams.

On the pics you can see there is some little diferences sometimes, like the tackles, or the option players.

All the starting skill players are the same in the 6 teams, to allow the "tweaking draft" system and base them as equally as possible.

Tonight I'll clean the figures and undercoat them.

I plan to work on it during week end. I'll make detailed posts about it, to show you some basic how to concerning figures preparation for painting.

Good preparation is the first step for a nice completed figure

That is the truth. How Many teams do you have so far?

With February around the corner, I've got 2 months to get 16 11-man teams done.

Evansville (Pioneer League) and James Madison (CAA) are my two teams. I'm doing this league in cooperation with my own solitaire league, for which these two conferences will be the first in my I-AA league.

Pioneer: Evansville, Drake, Butler, Valparaiso, Dayton, Campbell, Davidson, San Diego.

CAA: JMU, Delaware, Richmond, VMI, Villanova, Towson, William & Mary, Old Dominion.

Not totally sure yet which of those will be the Helmet Row Show opponents, but as part of my own I-AA league, they'll all play each other anyway.

I'm going to borrow from dogwood30's idea in his solo league and color code the bases to the figures. I figure one bag of 24 bases (12 rookies, 12 TTCs) can get me two 11-man squads (which will have 5 TTCs/6 rookies).

Drake and Butler will get gray Miggle bases, which I already have. I'll order a set of purple bases to do Evansville and James Madison.

I figure, I get four teams done every two weeks from Feb. 1 to March 31, and I'm ready to roll April 1.

Looking forward to seeing what everyone puts together!

Ed

For internet broadcast, I thing I'll add some color on keypoint players. Quarteback for sure, but perhaps on skill players too. To make it easier to follow on screen.

I will add color on figure's plateform borders, like on this example pic.

Everything will be based on entry level miggle bases. Really nice green color. TTC for linemen, QB. The other ones will be probably putted on rookie bases.

I will also take a deeper look on multistoppage system. I was surprised by it yesterday on the canadian MF event

Default I like.........

the color coordinated bases look as well but it doesn't fit with the plan I have for recruiting into a college league from my highschool league and then drafting from my college league into a pro league; unless bases can be painted. Never thought of that. Can bases be painted?
