I have a story about running out of gas by Joe Louis arena that is just funny.
Here it is.
We were on our way to see the Lions in 1990 . We were driving from Columbus to Detroit.
I was running out of gas and had to get off the freeway to find a gas station . I happened to run out of gas right in front of Joe Louis arena, lucky for me I was able to coast into a gas station. While I was pumping gas , a group of 10-12 guys came walking up to me. All I know is I hear the car doors lock , from the inside and I was outside the car . As the group of guys got closer to me . I finished pumping gas and was walking up to pay , when they walked by they said what's up , I responded with not much. They walked on by me and that was that.
I get back to the car and my Wife unlocks the door and lets me in my car. The other couple traveling with us { Nancy and Brian , I will call them that to protect their identity } says that they were scared and asked what the group of guys said to me . I told them that the group of guys said, that I never should return to this neighborhood again or it will not be good for me.
Brian states to me that if there were any problems, he would have jumped out of the car and helped me out . He is 5' 4" and weighs 120 lbs.
Later that night at the Hotel , my Wife tells me that Brian was the one that locked the doors.
I know it is a long story but it was funny at the time.
