On-Side Kicks
Guys,
I was telling someone who's preparing for the Miggle Tournament to make sure he has a kicker that can't kick! He asked me why and I said, "For On-Side Kicks if you are behind and need to score." Then I thought about it!!!!!! I don't ever recall seeing anybody who was successful in a On-Side Kick! I know there are rules in leagues and tournaments, I just can't remember anybody who recovered the ball! Have you? Smitty B-More |

Our rules. Kicking team lines up at 50. receiving team 30 and back. Kicking team sets up for kickoff first. A magnetic football is placed 11 yards from the 50 and its placement is to be determined by the kicking team. All players are pivoted and the first to touch recovers. If the recovering team has not been tackled then that player can run with the ball. My nephew recoved 1 the last time we played. Surprise on side. I had my blocking line out front for a return.

Let me expand a little. We play 10 possessions a game. A team is allowed two trick plays a game. An onside kick is considered a trick play. So basically if you recover an onside kick you not only get the ball but you take a possession away from your opponent.

Beltsville SuperBowl
Hey Smitty,
Remember the year that Big Keith Played Lomax, 2002/03. It was the first EF event I had ever been to since my teenage retired at 17. I believe Keith made the On-side kick, but I can't remeber who recovered it. I'm sure Lomax remembers. Hey K-lo tell the people what happened. Don't be modest. That was a great game. You coached the Rams that year. Sorry, everybody, the league was MEFA under Vance Warren at that time. Last edited by Tron1984 : 01-16-2008 at 04:54 PM. Reason: more info |
