Default Recommendation for all Conventions/Tournaments

In reading many of the posts after the Miggle Convention there seems to be one common theme - there were people there that we would have liked to have met, but we didn't know they were there.

As a suggestion, I would ask future tournament hosts to provide a public sign-up sheet where all coaches would sign in (if they choose to) with both their real name and their Forum name. This should be kept in a place where all participants have access to it.

This would let everyone know who is actually there and will give you a better opportunity to track down someone that you would really like to meet.

Also, on the name tags that we wear at these events, it would be good to have both your real name and your Forum name.

Any other suggestions as to how this can be done are most certainly welcome.

Default I like that Joe

Here's my idea.

We get a Soul Train line going. This is would be right after the dinner. Because we know everyone wants to eat, so everyone will be there. So we get this line going, we have the music pumping. We have DJ people's champ & DJ Grandmaster Karim on turntables 1 & 2!! And as each coach makes his way down the line, he gives his real name & his Soul name (message board)

That would go over real big, don't you think?

Now who gots sum Sssssssooooouuuuuulllllllllllllll

Thats a great idea Joe.

At similar work conventions I have been to, they have a sign in table, and when you sign in, they take your picture and someone puts it up on a board the next morning, you also get a name-tag on a lanyard.....everyone huddles around the picture board all weekend, looking to match faces to names, then they go into the big conference rooms seeking to match faces and name-tags.

One show I go to, they do really neat nametags in the lanyard....with the year on them. These become almost collectors items and souvenirs.

Lightbulb Recommendation...

Good idea Joe. I'll talk to Jimbo and we'll see what we can do.

Peace,

Hi Joe,

Greetings to you my friend. That is a great idea because I am sure a lot of people identify others by there name on the chatboard. I learned that last year when I went to the Seawall Brawl. I would first introduce myself to people by my real name but when I told them the name I used on the chatboard then many people immediately recognized who I was. Hopefully tournaments will pick up on your idea and use it.

Default Done

It's a done deal at The SWB!!! I felt the same way Joe did. I hated that I missed a few people in Detroit that really should have had some Hoop & Hollering due them. It won't happen again on my watch. How about a sign-in sheet at the front desk with everyone's room numbers so we don't have to guess? That way when cats get in they can just pickup their room phone and say, "WASSUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
