![]() This is a nice debate so here are my top 5.
1) Johnny Unitas: Like Reg said Johnny U. pretty much is why we have stations like The NFL Network. 2) Joe Montana: Won 4 Super Bowls, 3 Super Bowl MVP's, and never threw an interception. Now it gets tough. 3) John Elway: The last minute comeback king. 4) Brett Favre: Holds many of the passing records. 5) Bart Starr: Can't argue with 5 Championship Rings. Coach J |

![]() No way he can even be considered, in college he was bringing drew henson water, (Henson was a underclassmen) if henson picked football instead of baseball, you cats would be talking about him, he was a god, perfect size and power, with the mindset to play without allstars around him, sure brady has rings, thats awesome, but when picking the best alltime, you can't go by rings, I would take marino over brady anyday, Marino on the patriots, WOWWWWWWWWWWWW, 10 rings easy.
Not in order 1. Marino 2. Unitas 3. Starr 4. Staubach 5. Elway 6. favre 7. Montana

![]() Too much emphasis is put on championships. Winning a championship is done as a team. Brady is a better quarterback than Eli Manning, but the Giants won. Can't win a ring without a complete team. Marino didn't have the support that Brady, Favre, Montana had. Brady hasn't played long enough to even be considered. Remember, Brady is playing in an era where the defense can't be within 5 yards of the receiver or it's a penalty, or the receiver can knock the defender to the turf then catch the pass. Brady has had a few good years, but what if he sucks the next few? Is he still gonna be on the list? Just my 2 cents, or am I overvalueing my opinion?

![]() While all the championship rings go bling-bling down the street, the greatest QB debate rages on.....
You cannot just look at the NFL QB from what you have seen in your lifetime, but sometimes you have to reach back to understand where you are. My top 10 is more about overall QB play.......not just overall numbers 1 Johnny U. 2. Favre 3 Montana 4 Bradshaw 5 Sammy Baugh 6 Elway 7 Marino 8 Starr 9 Fouts 10 Staubach |

![]() thats a little more realistic.
like I said, there is no so called greatest ever. theres a - greatest for their era or for every 10 year period . For now Favre does hold top QB type status. He owns most if not all records of his peers. Elway got 2 SB wins and last minute wins but Favre still surpassed his stats as well as Marino's. Favre was around when there was a larger group of better QBs. Favre-Aikman-Young-Montana was finishing up- Elway- Marino- Kelly and Im sure I missed some- recently- if it wasnt for Archie and his wife this next 10 years would be berift of quality QBs. The Mannings and Brady are about it right now. |
