Cool Cowboys Q&A...

Why is there somewhat of a cult mentality across the united states when it comes to the dallas cowboy's? It seems that in every state, half of them are cowboy fans.

1)what is so special about the second in charge in texas ? 'TEXANS FIRST'
No offense Dre but... Unfortunately for the Texans the best they can be is a distant 3rd in a two horse race. They haven't played enough quality football to be given the second spot which is still occupied by the Oilers.

2) How long have you been a cowboy fan ?
Nearly 40 years

3) are you a ligitimate fan or one that likes them because everone does /
Diehard and will remain that way... win, lose, or draw.

4) dont you think their thankgiving uni's are better than the silver ?
NOPE.

5) dont make me put up my texan cheerleader picture ?
Put it up. Your Texans are 3rd in Texas, and your Cheerleaders don't rank in the Top 10 in the NFL.

6) do you think Tom LANDRY was done wrong ?
Yes and No. Yes...because he was Tom Landry and at the time, the ONLY coach the Cowboys ever had. No... because if he were any other coach would anybody really care? As far as I'm concerned Jimmy Johnson was done wrong as well, but it doesn't receive the same attention.

7) drew pearson or michael irvin ? who would wear #88 on your team.
I loved Michael's skillz and fearlessness, but #88 belongs to Drew Pearson.

8)are you still mad at jackie smith ? "HEY OVER HERE, IM OPEN"
Nope... Cowboy fans have been blessed with too many highs to keep dwelling on a few lows.

9)why are they america's team, and once again, why do you like them
They are America's Team because AMERICA Loves winners.

"I CANT WAIT TO HEAR THESE ANSWERS"

P.S/ DO YOU OWN ANY COWBOY JERSEY'S ? iN TEXAS DURING A COWBOY GAME, YOU SEE SO MANY WOMEN WALKING THROUGH THE AIPORT AND AROUND TOWN DECKED OUT IN COWBOY GEAR. WHAT'S THE DEAL ???

I can't help it if women in Texas are smart.

Peace,

OldSchool

Default When did the "America's Team" start?

I was only 8 or 9 but I sort of remember it starting around 1975-76...when the Boys put the one RED stripe on their helmets to honor the bicentennial year.

Is that about right?

Default

The term Americas Team started when a well known writer for NFL Films did a yearly Highlight film for The Cowboys. They were always on TV and they were as wholsome as apple pie he said. So he dubbed them Americas Team.

Default HUGE COWBOYS FAN

They are America's Team because they USED to be the best or one of the best every year and a ton of pple liked them.

I love their Thanksgiving uniforms, they are the best.

I am a cowboys fan because:
1. I was named after the best Dallas Cowboys player ever (Emmitt Smith)
2. My whole family loves the Cowboys

Default Cowboy fans don't....

have to travel. We are in every city, town, state, and country. You can't go to any game road without it being 60-40 in favor of Cowboy fans.

Default Only the Packers were mentioned by Elvis

Dallas' reputation was built by Tom Landry, who I respected greatly, but even his teams took second billing to America's real team, The Green Bay Packers.

The Packers own more world titles than the 'Boys (12 to 5) and have fans around the world, not just the US. The Super Bowl trophy is named after Vince Lombardi not Jerry Jones. And, if you need any furhter proof, consider this: There was no bigger American icon than Elvis Presley and the Packers are the only NFL team ever mentioned by Elvis in one of his movies (Change of Habit, 1969).

Nuff said.
