Default Big Ten Trophy Games

I've been painting 67 Big Men teams to set up the classic trophy games in the Big Ten Conference. Here's a glance at what I've got:

Northwestern @ Illinois for the Sweet Sioux Tomahawk
Minnesota @ Wisconsin for Paul Bunyan's Axe
Michigan @ Ohio State (no need for a trophy here)
Indiana @ Purdue for the Old Oaken Bucket
Penn State @ Michigan State for the Land Grant Trophy
Iowa @ Wisconsin for the Heartland Trophy

So far my technique has been to hand paint everything but the numbers. Although after seeing some of the work with decals, facemasks, etc., I may have to give that a try some day.

Fantastic!! Also, Michigan and Minnesota play for the Little Brown Jug.

Thanks! Yeah, there are a few trophy games more than what I've set up here (Iowa/MN, Michigan/MSU, Illini/OSU, PSU/Minnesota, Illini/Purdue). However, after trying to play for the Little Brown Jug with my 9 year old son (and losing), my excuse was that with both teams having white jerseys and gold pants, they were too hard to tell apart in the heat of the battle. One of these days I'll have to go back a paint a couple of these teams in their other jerseys to make sure all the games have one dark and one white jersey team.

Default Good Stuff

Looks like you're doing what I'm doing - painting the ENTIRE BIG TEN - the BEST Conference in NCAA Football!!! So far I have ILLINOIS in dark fully detailed that I just used in our College Tourney last month. My NORTHWESTERN is a split squad - Offense in dark unis and Defense in white - and they are fully painted minus chinstraps, facemasks and extras. Next up will be IOWA - after I paint my BENGALS that I'll use in the upcoming GLEFL season - so they can double as the STEELERS, my new arch-nemesis in the GLEFL. I use a mix of Haiti Repros and Buzzball figures and I'm trying to mix in som ff.coms as well, but I think I'll just use those on my NFL and ARENA teams.

To make things easier and expedite your task, maybe the spilt squad thing is the way to go.

Below are 2 pics of the ILLINI: 1 of the entire team in blue; 2nd is a TD pass to Brandon LLoyd ('02).

Very sharp, Jimbo. Kind of makes me wish I'd done my Illini in the blue jersey/orange pant look of earlier years.

By the way, I was at the Gopher/Illini basketball game when Tim Brewster, the new Gopher football coach was announced at half time. Kind of made me smile inside knowing the man being given the standing ovation was actually a Tight End for the Illini team that played in the Rose Bowl in '84 I think? On top of that, I found it ironic that his son is honoring his committment to play for Illinois, even though his dad now coaches the Gophers.

Oskee-Wow-Wow!
