Default Types of plastics

Does anyone know the technical term for the type of plastics used in the men.

Like the 67 big men. FF.com figures. The ttqb in particular.

I want to try different paints and don't want to eat the plastic or ruin the qb.

Any input ?

Default This what you use for FF.COM

Coach,

The best paints to use for FF.COM players are Apple Barrel and Folk Cart. They adhere well to the plastic and its not expensive in the least. You can paint players pretty quickly and uniformly with these brands of paints. You can also use Model Masters but they are more expensive than the $.50 bottle of Apple Barrel that you can get at your local Michaels.

They basically have EVERY NFL-type and NCAA-type paint that you could ever want. Hopes this helps.

Default Polystyrene

Mr. Ro-shay, the original deluxe figures were made of Polystyrene. The bases, Gorilla figures (base and figure combined) and QB were made of Polyethylene. I suspect most of the modern day equivalents are made from the same basic plastics.

The Apple Barrel and Folk Art from Michaels work great on the Miggle men too. I just switched to these acrylics vs the old school enamels I grew up using. Reg is right you can not beat the price and if you have never seen the color selection, just walk into Michael's Craft store and brace yourself, for you have never seen so many color options. They apply great and clean up is a breeze, it's a no-brainer for me.

Default Thanks

Thanks for all the input.

Can I use a sealer on the paint ?

Will the sealer do anything to the plastic?

What about the ttqb plastic that is different then the playing figures? I just don't want to weaken these guys when I apply paint or sealer.

Default Two Sealers to Use

Coach,

I first apply Testors 1241 to the painted figure. That comes in a spray form. Then I apply Modge Poge. I apply the flat kind to skin tones and the gloss Modge Podge to the uniforms. It gives that giure a nice contrast between skin and shirt.

Default Primer

Since I started using my Reginald Rutledge figures, I have found that by priming them first makes them able to accept more brands of paints. Liquitex, Testors, Model Masters all will work if you prime Reg’s figures first.
