Default Good question Mark...

I try to use very light coats, it will only bulk em up if that is my intent. Krylon makes a great matte finish spray, that when applied you can't even tell it's on there, but it does preserve work well.

Glad it worked for you. The matte spray is excellent for decal sheets too.
