The longest field goal in NFL history is 63 yards if I'm not mistaken, therefore that is the longest field goal you can attempt.

Mataray-Dre,
Having seen Coach J's idea in action, I think it's pretty cool & makes it fairly easy to determine made field goals. raiderhp |

The Goal Post are as wide ...
as the Tudor Goal post were. They can be as high as 3-4 feet tall. The reason being is because you have some kickers who kick very high and a rule of thumb, even though it seems unreal in electric football, is that as long as the ball splits the upright, no matter what the height is, it is still considered good by NFL standards.
We try to take away such arguments in games because balls may travel so high in such a short distance and we want to get the call right. What I will do is take one of my company products, "The Net" and measure the distances and I will show it on this site. Reg |

Hey guys thanks for the kind words regarding the FG's. In reality I can't take credit for that because I got the idea from the LA guys after watching there DVD of The Show.
Reg I will call you probably tomorrow when I get off from work. Coach J Last edited by Coach_J : 07-30-2008 at 03:37 PM. |

Could You Please Post a photo of the field goal or piece of equipment that you have developed? I use a plastice field goal that i purchased from Guttmann and i added a net to it so the football would be caught when it splits the uprights....i will post a picture later......very nice though ...thanks Mike

Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the equipment I use for FG's. It is simply a piece of cardboard. This is what I did. I simply measured the width of the goal posts up against a piece of cardboard. The width of the goal posts that I use with my 620 is 3 1/2 inches wide. The piece of cardboard that I use for FG's is 3 1/2 inches wide and 18 inches high. You know that the FG is good if it hits the cardboard. A piece of plywood, I believe, was used at The Seawall Brawl for FG's. As I mentioned earlier I got the idea after watching a DVD of the LAEFL Championship Game and it looked as if they used a piece of plywood for the backdrop. Be creative in whatever you use for the backdrop. The main thing is that you try to get the correct width of the goal posts. Hope that helps. Feel free to ask if you have any additional questions.
