![]() COACHES
While it may be every coach and commisioner's desire to have a 32 team league representing every nfl franchise. Do you value what you have in being in a small league. A small league does have it's value. It can mimick a group of 6 doctor's getting together to play golf on saturday's before going in to the hospital. it can represent a group of old buddie's playing poker on a friday night. It has the same value as a group of well to do women getting together for a game of bridge. It definetly rep's basketball pick up games everyday. All you need is the right setting, the right people, a nice place to meet and you can have the most enjoyable league imagined. ofcourse you welcome a new franchise if a coach in the area is interested, but many should know you already have gold right in front of you if you took a breathe and see what you have. Whether you have 6, 8, 9 or 10, you can formulate a dynamic league. Is an ideal amout of games per season 10 or 12. If you play in a league with 4 coache's due to the geographical placement of your living arrangement's. You can play a " rubber match " schedule. Meaning you play each team 3 times in no set order. If 2 coaches are bumming around 1 saturday and the other 2 coaches had prior obligations, the 2 coaches can play just once, play a double header or complete the rubber match in one day. This ofcourse is depending on how the 2 coaches feel throughout the day. A get your games in no pressure league like the big ones. So, if you were wondering can you make a league work no matter where you live, you can have so much fun. JUST MAKE SURE YOU WORK WITH WEIRDWOLF AND GET A KICK BUTT LOGO FOR ALL TO SEE. I would like to see more logo's from arund the country. IF YOU WERE APPREHENSIVE ABOUT STARTING A LEAGUE DUE TO THE NUMBERS, DON'T WAIT, GO GET IT ON. If you are an adult and have son's, connect with there cousins or a few neighbor's and be the commisioner for there "POP WARNER MINIATURE FOOTBALL LEAGUE", OR "PEE WEE MINIATURE FOOTBALL LEAGUE. you have the perfect setting as a home field (YOUR HOUSE) !!!!!!!!! THE VALUE OF PLAYING WITH GOOD PEOPLE IS REWARDING ONCE YOU CONNECT WITH THEM. MANTARAYDRE

![]() Are both great models of super small leagues.
In the CNYEFL we play in a host coaches home - usually JWoopies, but sometime at Johnny T's, or Papa Bears Condo Rec Room or more recently in the Man Cave Stadium in Lambeau (my house). The constant with all of these sites - great guys getting together and good food!!!! In the BAM we have a super home base now - The Toy Wiz in Nanuet - and we have also played in three other great sites this year - The New brunswick Library, The Hub Teen Center in New Brunswick and the Perzel Center in Philly. We order out for food at "The Wiz" and they deliver and a concession stand is on hand at the Hub and Perzel. Both leagues also have GREAT logos!!!! |

![]() This is an excellent question.I believe both have their advantages although I believe that a larger league is a lot harder to accommodate because of the facility you would need to aquire to have everyone get together. This is our first year and we have a small league but we are already scheduled to have two more teams join us next year so far.I don't know if I'd want 32 teams but I would definately roll with it if we obtained that level of participation, but I think somewhere between 12-20 teams lies the magic number.By the way, we also have one of theose awesome logos that you're referring to Dre and it definately helps not only with a presence but when you promote as well.

![]() Dre,
Sometimes bigger isn't always better! you have to get more people on one accord. in the real world, people have other commitments, jobs, families and time is precious these days! It's almost impossible to get evryone to show up on every game day. Is the location big enough? Who can't make it? How far do they have to travel to get there? Are their teams ready? How had a beef last week? Who hasn't put in time at home? Who needs to be on call this weekend? Who just doesn't know how to play nice with others. Find a good location. Set good rules and enforce them. Create a schedule and stick to it. Have fun and be flexable and keep who ever is committed. Let the NAYSAYERs and SLACKers fall by the waist side and move on. You can't please everybody. So Let It Be Written! So Let It be Done! ![]() |

![]() The question is valid even for solitaire. How many teams will you try to play in your league before it becomes unmanageable? It's one thing to have big eyes and try to collect all 132 Division I-A college teams and entertain big dreams of playing out an entire NCAA season on your setup. But then you run into some very practical problems, time being chief among them, and the record keeping becomes an act of bureaucracy you have to handle all on your lonesome. This kills the fun of the game for most hobbyists, and you end up with people who haven't taken their boards out in ten years and all those figures sitting in the dark somewhere in the house.
It sometimes seems like hobbyists really have to sit themselves down and play a game of lifeboat —what would you absolutely take with you if you had to leave a sinking ship. Setting limits and sticking to them firmly does allow the hobbyist of either a multiplayer or solitaire league to maintain a good point of control on the game and keeps it a fun hobby rather than a logistical and bookkeeping nightmare. |
