Default There Is No Argument's In Styles, But

COACHES,

many of us including MYSELF have no idea what it is to take a major part of your leisure time and create an entire system like ant burgess and a few others have done. Burgess took 7 years of his life to create the MPFL SYSTEM AND CRAFT IT TO MIMICK THE NFL. Reg rutledge developed the shootout series rules set 30 some odd years ago. so when someone sits down and creates an entire show, the need the actors (coaches) to carry out the performance to get ratings and put on a show.

Some coaches will not play in a league due to the leagues owner and creator. They may like/love or don't mind the rules/system but will say no thank you because of the creator. If you put yourself in the creator's shoe's, ofcourse he is going to defend what he created %100 percent. I see ant not trying to make money on his dvd's and not jamming his style down coaches throats. He is just adament in seeing his product succeed like anyone else who created something.

Reg rutledge, george diamond, the landsman, etc etc are the same way. If you love something enough to create, you will stand by your product.
many of us just join leagues already in place and lets face it, so we don't have to endure the painfull process in making our own system. Not only do you create a product, you must acquire coaches then be the commisioner of these coaches. DO YOU REALIZE WHAT A PAIN ALL OF THIS IS FOR THE SYTEM CREATORS. 'THEY SPENT ALL DAY COOKING THE T-GIVING DINNER AND ALL WE DO (COACHES FOR SAID LEAGUE'S) IS COME OVER STUFF OUR FACES THEN LEAVE. the product/system makers are left with the clean up (commisioning).

So when you hear THE MPFL some will say , oh im not playing, ant is the commisioner. Don't look at life that way, look at it as another league to put your team to the test in. There are NFL players who can't stand there coaches but they put in there weeks work then go home. (i know they are getting paid). kobe bryant of laker fame does not hang out or communicate too much with his team. He does his 8 hours, then hits the showers. look at life this way, your not just playing against a person in a league you may not agree with, you playing against an entire league of good people and competetive coaches. if there is no person in a current league you like, then maybe you may be the problem.

The misconception being displayed on this chat is the he must be talking about me or us syndrome. You can't get on here and promote something you feel good about without some automatically thinking, "he trying to dis us".
It's like being out with beyonce and you see halle berry. You mentioned, 'she's pretty" and the reply from beyonce, 'well what about me ?"

let us promote what we like without you thinking we are talking directly to you. This also goes for figues, bases, decals, etc etc. You may think you have great figures but the next 5 guy's may like someone else's product for whatever reason. No one in this hobby is a monopoly, there is other food at the buffet. Well maybe except for dwayne jennings, he has stuff no one else has at this moment.

The mpfl is on coarse to becoming a powerfull NFL style football league via it's approach to the game. Some folk's get offended when you are not high on the usage of the ttqb. I stated i do not see a group of grown men wanting to spend any time whatsoever trying to learn how to use the figure. The mpfl is packaged and promoted as an adult simulated football game. new coaches interested in this system will adapt more to where they can place the ball down via pass routes with sticks leading the receivers into coverage.
(DO NOT TWIST MY WORDS AND SAY ' OH WE MUST NOT BE GROWN MEN BECAUSE WE USE THE TTQB). If you already been using it, fine. I am saying i do not see a 40 to 50 year old ex-coach, doctor, lawyer wanting to play in a league starting from scratch, having the desire to use the ttqb when a system is in place that replaces it. Life will be much easier for them to practice pass routes and leasrning where to lead the receiver than to practice for hours trying to hit a figure point blank over and over.

There are 2 sets of newbies, the kids and the grown folk's.

Some coaches feel there football knowledge is alway's questioned .
realistaclly, how would any of us know what your football IQ is, realistically.
Way too much is taken personally when you are not the topic. If we don't converse with you on a continuos basis, how would we know what your make up is. Then how would we know what your football make up is. please, when you see a post, chances are %99 of them do not pertain to you . Please wait to see your name or league then you know you are the topic.

I look foward to playing in the MPFL in 2009 (miami dolphins)

Where do you look foward to playing in 2009. Not going through the motions but really look foward to playing

Defend the system you prefer, or advocate your style or rules and that's fine.
But don't attack coaches and their style of play stating that they are close-minded, backwards or that your system is "better" or more like real football.
That is an opinion clearly subject to debate.

There are many coaches who enjoy the shake box, penalty cards, multi-stop , dice and the many variations of how this game is played. it does not appear that these rules are dying out due to lack of interest or participation.
But let's not attack those who prefer other rules and methods of play and frankly that is what's happening.

2 things:

1- When you spend so much time learning and adjusting your strategy to one particular style, people just don't want to have to learn something new all over again. I don't think it's a knock on the"new style" not being as good or better. It's just not familiar. Plus, people don't want to take their lumps as they learn a new style.

So...don't think that a hesitancy to try a new style is because someone doesn't like it or the creater of it. Nor should you define that person as being close-minded.

He may just be "comfortable" and happy with his current style of play without having to start over and learn something new from scratch.

2- When people do spend so much time and energy into creating a style, shouldn't it be expected that they will want to be proud of it and share it with everyone?? They shouldn't be admonished for trying to push "their" style on others. They are simply proud of something they created and simply want others to give it a try.

We take things too personally around here....on both sides of the argument.

If you take the time to take a step back and put yourself in the other's shoes....I believe you will see that all of our opinions, posts and actions are simply a reflection of how much we each love the hobby/game itself...and not a personal judgement on the other person we are debating with.

if i may add, take these points into consideration:

Cats dont always have the time to learn a new style everytime.

Cats dont have the money to re configure their teams to fit the new system of play.

Cats dont have neither the time or money to road warrior around the US to play in different leagues.

I dont see the masses outright rejecting a different, or certain playing style, but you have to consider the above mentioned as being our real lives.

And there, may be the answer to ones frustrations that you are chearleading.
