Default Rules Threads

Please, for the love of God, can we set up some rules specific threads?!!

I am dying over here.

I am still looking for more ideas on what the fourms would be. Texas Shootout and MPFL, but what others? I also want someone for each rules set to act as the moderator and contact person for that rules specific forum. They would control their rules set forum and would recieve an email when someone posts in there section.

When someone steps up and volunteers to do this, I will create the new forums. I am also going to be gone the last half of this week so if it's going to happen this week, I need to know asap. I already spend way to much of my time moderating and moving posts....time for some others to get involved.

I'll get you guys set up tommorrow. We can then test it to make sure I have you set with all the right functionality. Thanks. I would like to sticky the rules set or at least a link to the rules set. I know the Shootout rules are pretty big so a link will work.

This is open to any rules set that would like to have their own space on the forum for rules discussion. Just volunteer to run your section and I'll get it going.

I think that newbies will appreciate the clarification that will go with the creation of these forums.

Default Does this mean that any mention of rules should...

immediately go to that subcategory and off the main page?

Just want to be sure or this will not work for everyone. If a poster post on those rules, will his thread be automatically taken to that subcategory?

I can not come on the tailgate section and start hyping up the TSO rules or RJ or RD or Mike or BHealey or Wally Jabs or John Rowan or Eric Robinson or any TSO type rulers, right?

Or even Shabby J?

Just need some clarity.

I don't know. Give me some ideas about what belongs in these forums and what doesn't. I would think it would just be rules Q and A regarding a specific set of rules. The idea being, keeping it user friendly for anyone with questions or wanting to learn about a specific rule set.

Honestly, once I give you moderator status over that section you can grow it to whatever proportions you want. The only thing that can't be done is sell anything within that forum. That all has to be moved to the Trading forum.

I would like to do this for leagues also. Each league could have their own subforum with password if so wanted. The MFCA might need a small fee based on number of league members but I am only talking like a dollar per member per year or so. Just thinking out loud. One purpose of the MFCA is to help grow leagues. If providing them a forum home on the web would help do this then we can start that soon.

Default I am not certain but I would think something...

like why my "Collections" thread was placed in another category.

If there a mention of rules in a manner of advertising my rules (cause you know I love talking TSO), should it not be put in that category? If someone else starts glorifying the TSO rules, should I not have spoken about that in the subcategory? If newbies come asking about rules, should that not be put in that subcategory. If the word TSO or Texas Shootout Rules be mentioned in pointing out how to play by rules, should I not put it in that subcategory?

I am just thinking out loud here? I really don't mind doing this for my rules. I just gotta hope people will want to read about all the information I am about to lay on them.

I am certain we will bring other moderators into the fold like Barry Stephenson and RD and even Norbert and Jim Davis.

It's really what the membership wants. I'm just trying to facilitate what the needs and wants are. Let me know how you want it to be.

I can say that it is not a good idea to have more than 1 or 2 moderators of a forum. With too many, things can happen and things get moved and then everybody starts exchanging blame. 2 should be the maximum per forum. Plus it gets more complicated and time consuming on the admin end to get all this set, specially if we have 4 or 5 of these rules forums going. We will need to keep it to 2 moderators.

Default Let me know what you want to do Wolf

It will be just Mike Robertson and myself. That's fine.

Example:

MINIATURE FOOTBALL RULES:
Rules 2000
Miggle Rules
Solataire Rules
NHFL Rules
MPFL Rules
Shootout Rules
Hybrid Rules
Solataire Rules

This way, every ruleset gets a voice. Just a thought.
