Default Offensive Line Movement

In the Shootout Method, there are various forms of line movements from straight ahead power blocking to West Coast to Texas Tech-type schemes. Here is one scheme employed.

You have to have the right figures to make this line work to perfection.

Well....I can sure see the lateral movement and how that would knock off loopers. It does leave a big lane up the middle....or where you want it....for the running back. I would assume that you usually have a lead blocker in this scheme then, to clear away anyone in the gap?? Or...is it better to use lateral movement to form a wall to the outside and then come in behind that wall after it kicks everyone out in the direction it is moving (I like this idea)?? Also, it looks like if you had a blocker that was quicker than the others, he might be able to loop behind the line and hit another spot....actually act as a pulling guard....but I guess you would need a slower back to allow time for that block to develop.

Reg,
You need to put some Defensive players in to show the true gaps that are made.

Man...I wish I had some video for you of my game with Reg here in Los Angeles. He didn't totally annihilate my defense, but he was playing me soft.....at least I am pretty sure of that!!

I was able to lock up with his receivers well, but his running backs were killing me with pass plays coming out of the backfield, as well as off-tackle runs. I think this had a lot to do with my defense featuring 3-4 loopers...they were handled pretty easily by Reggie's line.

Reggie's defense was even more impressive though...they shut me down. Reggie's friend and co-conspirator, Mike, had an even nastier defense on the field!! His defense utterly blew my offense up.
