Default you must tackle in the mpfl

coaches,

I can't stress enough that tackling is a must in the MPFL. during practice session's, you must train and put each player into position to make a play. You must determine where the offensive player is going end up during each stoppage and not where he is. This is how you think for the player. If you point a defensive directly at him you may miss the tackle completely due to angle's. In other words, 'head him off at the past". With front of the base tackling, angle's are of extreme importance. In this league/style of play, i love the broken tackle aspect of it. If your defensive player graze's a runner with part of his base it can be considered a broken tackle. This is genious in Miniature pro football. This is a way to showcase an offensive player escapability a la barry sanders or reggie bush. You must train your player's to become little ray lewis's.

Dre;

That is so true, another teaching point of this system. You must know pursuit angles, speed of the players and think 2 to 3 moves ahead of the other coach.
