Don't apologize for using pass sim sticks and dice. Use what you wish to use, the best rules in the hobby (my opinion) use dice, don't sweat it. Passing sticks are great as well when just starting out or returning to the hobby, even old school experienced coaches like this style of play and there are leagues that use them regularly. No need to apologize for this, don't fall victim to what you read and hear about these things. You played some MF with your son and both had a good time, that's what it's about.
