Don't get discouraged, work on the basics, then you will see improvement in your players, it does take practice and don't be afraid to start trashed base pile, you will ruin bases as you learn.

Once you get this down you will find this to be a very rewarding part of the hobby. You can compete with a team you built and tweaked and they kicked butt, nothing better than doing it all yourself.
