Default WHY DO SOME QB'S GET IT AND SOME DON'T

COACHES

Joe flacco and Matt ryan have proven if you can play, you just know how to play. These two gunslingers have sweet throwing arms. Sam bradford of okla reminds me of Montana with his throwing motion/rythm. So the question is why do some get it and some don't. I THINK WE CAN THROW THE WE'LL HE IS JUST A ROOKIE EXCUSE OUT THE WINDOW. I alway's wondered if a qb is good/great in college, critic's say sometimes, he might not be an nfl QB.My quesh is, well what did he shrink or his arm fell off during a summer before the NFL SEASON.

LOOK WHO'S ON THE BENCH WHO WAS GREAT IN COLLEGE
1)VINCE YOUNG
2)ALEX SMITH
3)MATT LEINHART
4)CARSON PALMER (HURT BUT WHATEVER)

** FLACCO seems so poised like a vet (on and off the field). Ryan the same way. How many of us ever saw a Deleware game with flacco at qb (probably not many of us) YOU NEVER KNOW WHERE YOUR GOING TO FIND THAT NEXT GREAT/GOOD QB. Maybe nfl teams need to look deeper at schools like a deleware.

so once again, why do some get it and some don't

Default Unexplained Greatness

Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco have a consistent offensive line and a strong run game. That has helped to take the pressure off of them. That’s why they both have shined this year. Every QB needs that in an effort to be successful. We really don’t know how good Carson Palmer and Matt Leinhart could be because they haven’t been blessed with a solid cast of linemen and running backs.

We cant answer that question cause its not tangible. Some people just have that "it" factor. Thats what separates "Winners (Brady! Flacco, Ryan??, Jordan, Kobe, Shaq)", from Perennial Pro-Bowlers (Romo) or Allstars (Marbury, Baron Davis).
As far as college stars (remember David Rivers and Pearl Washington in Coll. BBall?), its just a whole nother level when you go to the pros in any sport.

I went to a Knick game once, got there real early, and saw Scott Brooks STRAIGHT SCHOOLIN John Starks in a one on one game. Scotty barely cracked that line up though. The point is, EVERYONE IN THE PROS ARE GOOD, whether the 12th man in BBAll or the 53rd man in the NFL or the 24th man in MLB. Now a college star is going up against a bigger pool of competition, where the back ups are even good. its not like that in college. you are reserved to playing a select few schools and talent, and the talent drops off with substitutions. THere are so many factors, including what Maurice said ofcourse, but this is the biggest factor in my opinion as i have often discussed this with others.

But speaking of this, its good to see Andre Ware doing well as a college analyst. Where is Akili Smith and all those backs Chicago drafted?

Default Pure Talent

Don’t get wrong. I am not overlooking pure talent. There are those athletes that are purely talented. Those types of athletes are the best no matter what. I am speaking from the team aspect. Most players need the help of their teammates in an effort to be successful. An example would be a running back. Unless he has moves like Barry Sanders, most backs on any level of the game need their teammates to block for them if they expect to be great.

You need to put Jeff George at the top of that list. Why didn't he make it to the top. He could throw the ball 60 or 70 yards. Accurate beyond belief. IT WAS HIS ATTITUDE. He believed the NFL was priviledge to have him in the league. What seperates Good QB's from great ones. A winning attitude.
