QUICK QUESH ABOUT THE USAGE OF THE ACROSS THE FIELD PLACEMENT STICKS
Ant/jimbo,
What constitutes the EXACT usage of an across the field pass placement stick. 1) Is it where the receiver is standing during the stop ? or 2) Is it where the ball is finally placed down after the stick ? FOR INSTANCE lets say my qb scrables to the RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE HASH MARK. I have a wide receiver streaking down the left hashmark where i would need a 7 or 9 yard stick due to his yardage down field. lets say i see a massive opening in the zone right in the middle of the hashmarks. I place the stick down for the ball to end up in the middle of the hash marks. The receiver is sort of coming back across the field towards the qb's side. dO YOU USE THE REGULAR 7 TO 9 YARD STICK BECAUSE IT IS BACK TOWARDS THE MIDDLE OF THE FIELD, OR DO YOU USE THE ACROSS THE FIELD RULE BECAUSE OF , EITHER WHERE THE WR FIRST STOPPED, OR THE WR IS NOT IN THE QB'S PATH ENOUGH. THANX MANTARAYDRE

Quote:
If the receiver is on the same side as the QB, ( left side ) and the QB is ( out side of the LT on the same side the the pass is normal. It is an advantage if the QB stays in the pocket ie with in the tackle box.
