Default Coaches to Run Demo Game Needed - Dallas/Ft Worth Area

Sorry about the double post!

Hello,

My name is Michael White, and I run a small local convention here in Plano, TX which is just outside of Dallas. It's called The Greater Games Gathering (G3) and it is run 3 times a year on a Saturday from 9:00am until 11:00pm. Our next event is on Saturday, April 4th.

I, like many of you, grew up playing electric football as a kid, but only recently became aware of the large, dedicated following the game now has. I espcecially thrilled to see the amount of depth given to the game by so many enthusiastic players. I am very excited to expose the gamers at G3 to this well established hobby, but I am in need of your help. I am looking for 1 or 2 folks to come out to our convention and run a demonstration at G3. Anywone who wishes to come will have free admission to the convention so long as they run at least a 4 hour block of games. You will of course be free to bring an assistant if need be. You can get more info about the convention from http://g3.forumarena.com/

The event will be at:

The Plano Convention Centre
2000 E. Spring Creek
Plano, TX 75074

Those interested should contact Mike at info@greatergamesgathering.org

Thanks for your time, everyone. And thank you in advance for any help you can give.

Default Hey Mike, tell me...

what you need.

I think we can manage to put something together. That weekend, we will be starting our CBSMF (college) season and will be able to show the games. We can bring the whole show.

Let me know. I would request us getting 4 people in to explain how to play the game and hand out brochures. Let me know. This is what we can show.

Hi Michael,

Greetings to you my friend. My name is John but I am better known on the MFCA chatboard as Coach J. This is your first post so let me say welcome to the hobby and the MFCA chatboard. You have come to a good place to get your miniature football questions answered.

I am glad that a few people in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area have responded to your post regarding the convention in Plano on Saturday 4/4. I am sure the demonstration will go well and hopefully you will become more involved in the hobby.

Have a good day and again welcome to the hobby and the MFCA chatboard.

John aka Coach J

Default Great news

Reg. / Barry, Sign me up as somebody who can help out.

Mike we met last year at the Skirmish convention because the two cons. were being held side by side last summer. Since then I have had some friends who have attended the G3 and had positive things to say. I also want to take this opportunity to thank you and the G3 orginaizers for being so open ended in what kind of games are presented at your con. That stands in stark contrast with Skirmish con, as many know.

Reginald, myself and others put on a great demonstration last November in Austin for Mellineium Con XI and that was a huge success. Did you attend that? See the following video links that Reg. put togethor from that event.

Wow Curtis, that's really nice to hear and a true vote of confidence. We do try our best to make everyone feel welcome. And I remember meeting you as well...you had a goatee I believe, glasses, and a hat. I love miniature games and I love football...so this wasn't a real stretch for me! LOL. I've been doing a lot of research on this hobby and I am beyond impressed at the level to which you gamers (excuse me...coaches) have taken the game. From the detailed figures, to the custom fields, to the actual TACTICS to win, and even the physicality of the game. Absolutely amazing. Who knows. Perhaps if this goes off well we may be able to host a tournament...the G3 BOWL! Hmmm. I like that.

I hope to see you again at G3.

Default Yep that was me

That we me alright.

As I say in miniature wargaming there is strategy, tactics, artistry, and ingenuity involved. In electric football there is strategy, tactics, artistry, ingenuity, AND mechanics and stamina involved.

Thanks to Reggie, Barry, and Curtis for helping out. I'm really looking forward to seeing your game on the 4th...as well as many other gamers. And thanks Coach J for your warm hospitality and support of our event.
