Rayfield Wright & Tony Hill
As well as some of Chachi's Steelers, just for kicks .
Here are two figs i did as a test run in my quest to doing my all-out full blown Cowboys teams of the 70's and 2000's era. Started with these 2, with many more to come. Also, with improvement. These are really the first figs i have done up all myself. I learned a few things from my errors, and from posts on this site. One thing i have learned is, you can see your mistakes when you post them up here. The pics bring out alot of errors. I see a few already in the preview. The next two i do will hopefully be much better. but here is my start.

gr8 stuff.
Those figs are a gr8 start to what i am sure will be a awsome team.
My only suggestion would be on your #80 WR fig. he looks very top heavy to be that close to the front of the platform leaning like he is. i would move him more to the back of the platform, believe me, there is nothing worse then completing a pass to your reciver , then having him fall over.

Thanks for the looks
Philly - I havent gotten into Apoxy. Sounds easy, but once i hear mixing, i shy away. I tried this stuff first to see if i get the same thing, and so far, so good. If i run into problems, then my next stop will be to try the apoxy. As far as it being smooth, i dont know what i did to get it that way. Just molded it on and then pressed with my fingers to give it that shoulder pad squarish look. Bluesman - Again, those figs are tight. Didnt know you made your own figs too. Yeah, he is a tipper alright . Moving him back is something i am going to do when he starts playing. Dont know yet either, if i am going to paint the bases another color. Shabby - Gotta be hard man, do you see the stuff going up on this board ? Do you see the stuff in my collection from others ? Thanks man I do know its not as bad as i made it sound, however, i want to think like that so i can give it my best shot. I have some serious work to compare these men to on the field, so i gotta represent my Cowboys and do em right. And i remember seeing Steve Martin one day painting a team and paying close attention to detail. I see some other painters who's work reflect that as well. I gotta do this project right. Gotta go back and fix some stripes. To the naked eye, i actually did not pick up on Tony's sleeve stripe overlap of paint . But as soon as i put it up here, i noticed it. It was said in another post before, last year, and its true: Pics will bring out the mistakes. But again, i really appreciate the time spent checking these dudes out. Thanks. All feedback is welcomed, especially with this project - my first, REAL, do EVERYTHING myself project. Well, except decals that is. HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE Scott

Cowboys...
Hoop,
I always luv me some Cowboy custom figs, and you happen to pick two of my favorites. Your Rayfield Wright and Tony "Thrill" Hill look really good. It was good of you to include the brand of paperclay that you used. Here's a picture of the stuff they sell down here at Michaels. The brand is called Delight and it is made by Paperclay. Peace, OldSchool |
