Tommorow, I'll make the 10yards chain and 1st down marker.
Then, I'll tweak 2 demo teams, and I hope to make my first game a few days after, or on monday 19th evening for sure in the worst case. |

BIGGER BALL TARGETS.
In keeping with the idea of teaching the game to others, when i play with my kids at school, i use the sticks, but i also use a bigger target for the guys to run to. This gives the players, on both sides of the ball, more chances to make a play on the ball. There is nothing more boring and discouraging to a novice player, just learning, than to have a bunch of 2-3 straight incomplete passes.
Most times, i use the correct small ball target for my games. But every now and then, to create a more fun, less strategical game, i breakout the bigger target football. More completions, more interceptions, overall more fun. Fun might have to be an idea to keep in mind when teaching the game. Then, when they understand it better, and tweak better, then the REAL FUN starts with the smaller target but more strategy. This has been my observation. Scott |
