When the competitive nature supercededs the fun and love of the game what do you do?

In all honesty, the only tiime i really had fun in this hobby was being at reg's house first hand. Having the barbrque rose cooked up for many of the Dfw coaches. Talking to reg's brother in the dinning room about the music business while fixing my texans. Going to my first texas shootout meeting mike robertson, reg, rose, the great don hudson, frank johnson and many others. Also both MFCA conventions where awesome due to the other activities wolf set us up with. The hall of fame game, the cookout at the house accross the street from the stadium. ALL OF THESE ARE MEMORABLE MOMENTS I WOULD NOT TRADE FOR ANYTHING.

Then there's the otherside, I have seen some and been part of some low handed stuff on and off the playing field that made the hobby not fun at all. When you see and experience this, ofcourse it is not fun anymore. If it is not fun, how can you show up to any gameday when your morale is so low. Ken allen is right, find a group of guy's who you just enjoy being around then your morale will get a boost. Then the game will become fun once again. Electric football should be relaxing and enjoyable but you cant accomplish that when you are just tolerating ego's then going through the motions with the jokers smile. Knowing this atomshpere is not for me. YOU CAN'T BE COMFORTABLE ON THE FIELD WHEN YOUR UNCOMFORTABLE IN THE SETTING.

Some coaches take a short break and return refreshed and ready to go. You can't let the game get the best of you. IF YOU LOSE AND DON'T CARE 5 MINUTES LATER, YOUR HAVING FUN. IF YOU WIN, AND CARRY ON HOW GREAT YOU THINK YOU ARE, YOUR NOT HAVING FUN .



Go to the game, compete to the best of your ability. If you drink, have a beer win or lose. Go back home to your family, and give your undivided attention there until your next game.

NEVER GO TO SLEEP WITH AN EGO ON THE PILLOW ALSO. " YOU WILL WAKE UP WITH A STIFF NECK ". You can't turn around and see what is really important to you on both sides !!!!!!!!!!!
