![]() Coach French fry
![]() Just play "open" for now, when you start an official League then you could choose a certain weight standard 3.3 , 4.0 what ever. To answer your qestions on the difference the weight makes in performance of a base. If two bases are tweaked "equal" in strength than the heavier base/figure combo will be stronger. For speed I have found that the biggest difference is it "settles the base down to be "smoother" These are just my opinions and what I have found to be the basic differences. Geno H |

![]() Rushing out of work now, saw a response dimitri but cant read it now, i was just searching Jimbos stuff for what i was talking about and found it, hope it does not conflict with what you said i will read it all when i get home. 2 things from 2 different JIMBO posts real quick, hope this helps.
".........I like that RBs and WRs can't weigh as much as OL and DL!!! What would happen if 3.2g Warrick Dunn ran smack into a 4.0g Reggie White? How about a 3.8g Jerome Bettis vs a 3.2g Deion Sanders? Do the Math." "I like... ...my OL/DL at 4.0 grams ...my QBs, RBs, TEs, and LBs at 3.6 grams ...and my WRs and DBs at 3.3 grams. I also play on a custom big board that is 24" x 48"!!!" |

![]() thanks for the quote !
I made some measurement tonight of figures I created, including a regular TTC base. Later I'll make real comparaison, for fun and for information (first I'll have to understand your weird US weight measurement system ![]() Perhaps the NFL specialist here will dig some interesting info with that measurements : scorers : Vernon Davis : 4.04 grams (250lbs = real athlete weight) Alex smith : 3.98 grams (217lbs) bruce isaac 3.92 grams (188lbs) (3.49grams on rookie base) crabtree 3.90 grams (214lbs) (3.47 grams on rookie base) moran norris 4.01 grams (250lbs) gore 3.95 grams (217lbs) line : heitmann : 4.12 grams (312lbs) Chilo rachal : 4.20 grams (315lbs) staley : 4.25 (315lbs) snyder : 3.88 grams (my lighter player, surprisingly !) (325lbs) David Baas : 4.20 grams (330lbs) We can see that the weight comparaison is not perfectly realistic...especially for Snyder (easy to "fix" with a little weight addition) and Isaac ! For the other players, the comparaison results are not so weird or surprising, finally ! EDIT2 : I found a website to convert US to metric : http://www.imperialtometric.com/conversion_fr.htm David Baas weight is about 150 kilograms ![]() ![]() Last edited by the french guy : 12-21-2009 at 06:34 PM. ![]() Anyway, I guess we can dig a rough rule scheme here : 4.2grams for linemen, 4 grams for "scorers", and even perhaps 3.5-3.6 grams especially for receivers... It will be quite easy to remove or sand really tiny bits of plastic under the figure attached base to be "legal" !
Perhaps we should add another weight category, for defensive line or super heavy players, with a limitation of number ? I don't know... Last edited by the french guy : 12-21-2009 at 06:38 PM. |

![]() seen your post... btw awsome looking team... if you really feel the need to stick with the 4.0 standard using ff.net figs customized the way your doing, one tip i can give you is to remove the player from his little platform and replace it with a lite weight stif clear plastic or a playing card... then re-decorate that with grass.
just removing his platform will save you almost a full gram of weight in "dead" plastic. hope that helps alittle. Rick Garrison

![]() thank you, Rick, for the comments on my team and for the advise
![]() I think you're right for the plateforms. I've got thin plasticard which should do the job perfectly. On that team (and the future steelers team for my brother) I'll keep the "new open rules" 3.6 - 4.0 -4.2grams, and for "super heavy mammoth" players (defensive, for example) I'll use your tip to make them 4.2g legal. One of my future 2010 projects is to make a "super detailled" 3.3grams legal team, real 28mm scale (like fab5), BTW ! |
