Great stuff. That was a fun league - the first one I ever played in.

Default CBA-Colonial Buzzball Association

Roo, You, used to have the old CBA link on your painting web page or photos related to the CBA. I think they were taken at Pratt’s house featuring you, Vance Warren, Will T., a few guys from Philly and others, do you still have access to them? They are worthy of the MFCA archive.
Thanks,
Ray F.

That would be awesome if Roo could find those pics, it would be a great way to look at the history of MF, I myself have some pics from 03 and 04 I will be putting up soon after I downsize the greatlakes superbowl pics.

I'll have to see. I know Geocities closed down, and they hosted the site - so I'll have to see what I can dig up. I hadn't updated the site in quite some time ... though it was interesting in Corey's pictures, that one of LSU-Nebraska are teams I painted that were on that site. LSU was for Ed Scott (I think), and Nebraska was done for Pratt.

Those were fun days. Renegades hitting the road to find metal gridiron action, and I think Will/Vance even stopped at the Hagerstown outlets once to buy TVs.

It was such a simpler time ...

Default Yeah this was the 2nd league

Roo you hit it on the head buddy. Those were some good ole days!

I remember driving out to your apartment in Dumfries??? You threw some burgers on and we got down! I remember Keith Chalmers sitting on the couch with his eyes wide open......didn't say a word!!! Imagine that now

620's were the thing to have. Wide topps were like gold. Auctions on Ebay that had 620's and teams were going for $200-$350, and sometimes more depending on what board it was.

I laughing at Norbert say 03-04.....that's like the kids saying biggie is an old school rapper! Try Run-DMC or the Fat Boys, we talking 98,99 & early 2k!!!!

Those times were great, but they had their dark times. Nobody, and I mean nobody left their team un-watched. Guys would take advantage of newbies back then. Ghost post on the old message board. The war over boiled bases.
There were some dark times back then. That's why I shake my head some say the hobby is in trouble.......man we are striving. Enjoy these times. Make sure you save all the pictures, all the articles. You may be able to google our names some day. We may have a page on Wikepedia. Our hobby/sport is headed in the right direction. Let's not forget those guys that laid it down before us...the Myron Evans & Vance Warrens!!!

The 1st league was the CPEFL or something like that right????

Default Road Trip.......

Can you say " road -trip "
Man it was nothing back in those days for the Tidewater-crew,
Rich Parks,Don Smith, Jayboy Combs and myself to make a road trip..........
We'd pile into my Ford Contour and hit the road.A lot of miles
and alot of good times.
Thanks for the memories........

Yep, the CPEFL was the first season. CBA was the second. Had a strong stable of coaches in both. That was back in the good old days when I ran the Browns and only used a 5-receiver formation and chucked the ball every play - and I had a good kick returner. But noooooo defense.

Default I remember .....

one dark time i went to columbus to a tournament. Pat Morris took me under his wing and took me down to it. I just got back in. Had a blast went 2-2 and lost my bowl game 3-0 but the dark time was my 2 best RB's came up missing. One looped left the other right on BB clear bases. The were sweet running backs. Hmmmm imagine that.
