Default The greats are good....

...at anylevel. Fizzling out at the pro level shows an inability to adapt. Take Emmitt Smith, for example. He was great at the high school, college, and pro levels, because he could adapt his running style to fit the comp. he was playing against. Archie Griffin never could do this at the pro level, thus there must have been a lack of competition in the Big 10 at the time. As I said, the greats are great at any level--Archie was never that! Just my two cents.

Ernie Davis or Bo Jackson would get my vote.

Default Golly, there are SEVERAL great college tailbacks

LOVE that Marcus Allen figure! Awesome numbers and helmet logos. And nice color matches. Great job!
I have Marcus, Reggie Bush, Charles White, and O.J. Simpson in my USC miniature football team's backfield. In college Marcus was the best of them, in my opinion.
I have to vote Barry Sanders as the best of all. Sanders could run against anybody, in any conference, in any era. Although, Bo Jackson was REALLY good. Herschel Walker was too. Billy Sims? (Could have won 2 Heismans if not for Charles White's senior season)

Default More Reasons Why Tony Dorsett Rules.....

he's The Only Player In Football History To Have These Honors And Made These Accomplishments:

1) Win A College Championship

2) Heisman Trophy Winner

3) Inducted The Collegiate Hall Of Fame

4) Won A Superbowl Championship 1977 His First Season in the NFL

5) Intucted Into Nfl Hall Of Fame

6) And Holds A Nfl Record: For Longest Run From The Line Of Scrimmage (99 Yds)

7) And The Only Time He Rush For A 1,000 Yds Was The 1982 Season, when The Strikes Were Going On.

Marcus Allen Didn't Accomplish The Same Because He Didn't Play In The Usc's 1978 Season, Though They Were Ranked #1 That Year On The Upi Poll.

Any Disputes?? Check The Books I Did!!!!! You Shouldn't Have To, After All Why Shouldn't The Greatest Back Of Alltime, Be From The Greatest Nfl Team Of All Time. As Well As The Alltime Leading Rusher, Because Greatness Is Suppose to Produce Greatness!!!!!

Now, How Can I Not End This With Saying...HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS

I would say Hershel Walker. Although in the pros the Vikings traded 7 players for him and he stunk for my team.
