Default Just added weight

Anthony is right. I just added weight to my league team since we're going to 3.6gr. this season. Anyway I have one player that's at 4.2g, and one at 3.5g; the lesser weighted player actually had more push because of his stance and forward lean. So I now know what AB is talking about. Also I used weight via lead tape on the player and lead weight under the base. The tape also proved better because of the density of the tape. Less air pockets than the block lead. So in short test things on a practice team or some useless figures first then decide what you like. As far as all around weight limits for the nation; I say enjoy what your league prefers we all can adjust for tournments.

Thanks Darrian , I wasn't sure if anyone would understand as many have not truly tryed weighting there players and are just looking at the number and not the performance .

Default Lemme 'splain...

I didn't just get this game last Christmas. I've been playing for quite sometime and I think I know when I say that if I add weight to a guy and tweak him to the best of MY ability, there is no way ANYBODY that weighs less than him will EVER push him around. The lighter guy MIGHT be faster, but he would NEVER push me. I, too, know how to find the best figure for the best position. I know about forward lean, center of gravity, etc.

My bottom line is: there's a reason they weigh college kids at the Rookie Combine. Weight matters! There IS a limit and that's ALL I was trying to say. The base can only take so much before it bottoms out and doesn't budge. THAT'S A LIMIT! Whether it's 16.0 grams or 16.0 pounds, THERE IS A LIMIT and it should be stated. With all things being equal i.e. base weight of 1.2 grams, coaching skills, base tweaking, etc. if the only thing that is different is the weight, the heavier team will win. There's no two ways about it. Better example is IF I prepared 2 teams exactly the same and left one unweighted and then made one 6.0 grams and ran the same Defense and the same Offense, THE HEAVIER TEAM WOULD WIN.

Why is that so hard to understand?

Then you throw in a Rookie Coach that thinks weight doesn't matter and he just wants to have Fun and all that jazz; HE'LL GET SMOKED EVERY GAME and probably quit before the average leaguemate helps him get his team up to par. Why? BECAUSE WEIGHT MATTERS!

I will not reply anymore, because I know I'm right and there's no point arguing about it anymore - at least from my point-of-view.

Last case in point: If a certain Champ's team was of equal weight and configuration when he played this system of "unlimited weight" for the 1st time, I guarantee he woulda won or at least made a better show 'cause there's still a lot of idiosyncracies to master in the MPFL System. But even without knowing ALL of the rules and procedures, had his team been weighted as equally as his opponent's, it woulda been a different story. Thunderlips vs. Rocky is what that was. The two shoulda never been in the same ring together other than for the publicity stunt it was intended to be.

AB: You tell me how much each of your OL and DL weighs and I'm all yours after I win the SWB. Better yet gimme a recommended roster configuration or provide me one of your teams to play with. Bet that? But then you gotta play a game of Miniature ARENA with me. Peace.

Default Nice!!!!!!

Hey Jimbo

I do understand you , however there is still the matter of style . When playing weighted you need a scale size board to balance out the weight on the field . Look at it this way , 11 on 11 football played on the arena size field . " It wont work because the field size it to small , there is not enough room to operate . "

Weight is the same way , the feild has to be the right size or you will infact hhave the ability to just push the other coach around , with little to no coaching .

I look forward to seeing you at the SWBII .

Default I Look Forward To It.

Hey AB, I can't wait to finally "meet" you. I know we walked by each other in Baltimore and I didn't make The TSO, so The SWB is gonna be special. As I just told Raven Maniac in a PM, A LOT OF THINGS get lost in translation when it comes to these chatboards, so speaking face to face and SEEING what you're talking about is gonna open my eyes. Who knows, we could become best friends afterwards once we finally talk to each other! Maybe we're saying the same thing and in type it appears 2 different things.
