MAKE SHIFT PLAY/PRACTICE ITEMS FOR THE MPFL "PLEASE READ"
coaches
here are a couple of tidbits to get you rolling to see what you can do in the mpfl PASSING STICKS Go to STARBUCKS AND GET YOU A FEW STRAW'S (WITH YOUR COFFEE OFCOURSE). The straws are already green like the field and ready to go. get a ruler and scissors measure and cut to size. JERRY MCGHEE told me a yard on a scale size is a 1/2 inch. Ant and jimbo expressed the size of the sticks DO NOT change no matter what size board you are using. 3 yd stick 1 1/2 inches 5 yd stick 2 1/2 inches 7 yd stick 3 1/2 inches 9 yd stick 4 1/2 inches 12 yd stick 6 inches 15 yd stick 7 1/2 inches 18 yd stick 9 inches *** TO MAKE THE 15 YD AND 18 YD STICK JUST GET A SUPER LONG STRAW FROM DUNKIN DONUTS (WITH YOUR COFFEE OFCOURSE) !!!! FLOATING FOOTBALLS Use the paint brush tip holder/protector when buying a paint brush. These tips are crystal clear and represent the atomosphere when the ball sits atop it. If you do not have those just get a rounded coffee STIRER. A REGULAR STRAW IS TO BIG BUT THE COFFEE STIRER'S ARE PERFECT. Get yourself a small magnet as the base. cut the stirer short enough so when the ball is on top of it it is as high as your receiver's chest. I WOULD JUST US a small piece of glue tack to place on the magnet then stick the stirer in the tack. Duane read has something called BLU TAK. Stuff is pretty good. so, put magnet on the field, tear off a snippet of glue or blu tak, put it on the magnet and stick the stirer on/in the tak. i guess your going to have to glue a miggle football on to ther stirer. BUT IF YOU ARE CREATIVE ENOUGH, I GUESS YOU CAN ROLL A SMALL PIECE OF GLUE OR BLU TAK INTO THE SHAPE OF A FOOTBALL AND STICK THAT ON TOP OF THE STIRER. "YOUR ALL SET" . run a few pratice play's. set up man to man defenses. set up cover one, two and three's. set up zone defenses. THIS IS A PRACTICE SESSION TO SEE WHERE YOUR RECEIVERS ARE RUNNING ROUTES. Remember to have the cb's run with the wr's. if you do not want to make a timer box at this point, just count off 1.5 to 2 secs in your head for each stop. Look for your primary receiver and where the defenders are near him. this will determine where you, the QB, will throw your pass to that receiver. YOU PUTTING DOWN THAT STICK IS YOU "THE QB' THROWING THE BALL INTO COVERAGE ! Just like any other qb, you must ask yourself, WHERE CAN I LAY THE BALL SO MY WR CAN MAKE A PLAY BEFORE THE DEFENDER COMES OVER AND GOES FOR THE PICK. 'YOU LAYING THAT STICK DOWN IS YOUR MOMENT IN THE SUN AT QB' If a defender beats your wr to the ball, guess what, YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS WHEN A NFL QB MAKES A BAD THROW. "It's no different". It was you who decided to put the stick down at an angle that was not pinpointed for the wr. GO YELL AT YOURSELF WHEN WALKING BACK TO THE BENCH. "it will happen fast so don't be suprised.!!!!" PASSING RANGES THEY WERE REVISED AND I CANT REMEMBER THEM ALL OFF HAND 1-10YDS (3 YD STICK) ***NORMAL PASS ( 3 YD STK)***TOUCHING ( 5 YD STK)**ACROSS FIELD ( +7 YD STK) 11-25 (5 YD STICK ) ***NORMAL PASS ( 5 YD STK)***TOUCHING ( 7 YD STK)***ACROSS FIELD ( (+9 YD STK) 26-35 ( 7 yd stk ) ***NORMAL PASS (7 YD STK) ***TOUCHING ( 9 YD STK)**ACROSS FIELD (+12 YD STK) 36-45 ( 9 YD STK) ***NORMAL PASS ( 9 YD STK)***TOUCHING ( 12 YD STK)***ACROSS FIELD (+15 YD STK) 46 OR MORE ( 12 YD STK) ***NORMAL PASS (12 YD STK)***TOUCHING (15 YD STK)***ACROSS FIELD (+18 YD STK) ANT WILL COME ON HERE AND ELABORATE AND GIVE THE CORRECT DISTANCES PROBABLY BEFORE I DO IT. IT IS PRETTY COOL TO SEE DEVELOP. If you try this out please come on here and give us somefeed back PS/ JUST USE A REGULAR STRAW UNTIL YOU HIT STARBUCKS. THIS SHOUD TAKE YOU 3 SECONDS TO MAKE THE DUPER AND CLAYTON SHOW COMING LATER IN THE 09 MANTARAYDRE
