Default MPFL, NOT JUST ANOTHER RULESET, IT'S AN ENTIRE SYSTEM

coaches,

I am quite pleased for ant burgess that the MPFL is being looked upon with fresh eyes. In the past, post would be written and things were said that lead to disagreements. During this disagreement period, once again, the MPFL system was swept under the rug and lost for a few months. You cannot look upon anything in a favorable manner with a misinterpend dark cloud hovering over a person. The best thing that has happened for the MPFL was it acquiring it's own rules section. We have been speaking freely on the system and having a great time while LEARNING A GREAT DEAL ABOUT FOOTBALL.

As coaches begin to look into the world of the MPFL they can see for themselves it is an entire system and a football way of life. Go back and look at the article in the tweak again. The explanation of the system is educational and the accompaning photo's complete the story. I may have come off the wrong way in the past alway's asking, ' why aren't we letting the receivers go ? ". If you look at the photo were ant turns his DB'S to run with the receivers, that's all i ever was asking. I guess a picture is worth a thousand words!!!. It's funny, last year don smith wen't to the MPFL superbowl. This year F.O.T.H made his appearence at this years superbowl. They both came back and said the exact same thing, 'It's like watching a real NFL game".

Smitty, who i alway's had the greatest repsect for in the hobby because of who he is and what he has done. For smitty to say, " ONCE YOU PLAY THE mpfl WAY, YOU WON'T WAN'T TO GO BACK TO TRADITIONAL ELECTRIC FOOTBALL ". You may not understand, but that is a massive endorsement coming from the mouth of SMITTYRAVENS. One of the iconic figures in the HISTORY of electric football.

*** ANOTHER TREMENDOUS ENDORSEMENT CAME FROM THE LATE GREAT DOC SMEBY. THE GREATEST FOOTBALL MIND THIS HOBBY EVER HAD. TO PUT IT PLAIN AND SIMPLE. HE SAID, "ANTHONY BURGESS GOT IT RIGHT !"

You got something special with endorsements from those two.

May more and more continue to believe, IN THE MPFL

THANX

PS/THERE ARE SOME HOT TEAMS WAITING TO BE FRANCHISED FOR THE 2009 SEASON.

No Dre, the best thing that has happened is a change in attitude. This forum was quickly heading the same route as before. Now, people here can float on their back and relax instead of swim the butterfly through the Jones Beach waves.

Now this part, i am slowly starting to realize. i was schoolin my friend and his 10yr old god son on a watered down version of this system. it straight rocked!! they enjoyed it, but more so, i saw the differences between this and traditional ef. I CANT WAIT TO LEARN MORE AND PLAY SOMEONE WHO IS THE SYSTEM AS WELL.

it still comes down to what one enjoys though, whether one, multiple, many or all ways of playing. This for me, thus far, is a comfort level. However, traditional ef with one stop, watching that RB make cuts ON HIS OWN, then turn up field ON HIS OWN, is still, by far, the most exciting thing to see in this game.

BUT DRE, NOW THAT I AM INVESTING MY TIME INTO THE MPF, WHATS UP WITH A SCRIMMAGE DUDE? WE ARE A 1/2 HOUR AWAY FROM EACHOTHER.
LETS CRACK THE PLASTIC ON THE VIBRA TURF AND HAVE SOME FUN MAN.
LETS DO IT.

Default When I met adolf rupp.

When I was a little kid,I met the Legend Coach Rupp.He is the equal of Bear Bryant in the Basketball world. He was pretty quick and rude with me.Too this day,I still have that first impression of him.I was in 1st or 2nd grade then.Being a bit of a sports historian I now appreciate who he was and what he accomplished.I learned alot about him by studying up on coach Bryant. They were at UK together, but that is another story.Point is,I still went on to play basketball and did not let one negative encounter keep me from enjoying a great sport.I think the MPFL is bigger than one person.Oh, one person may get the credit for the system, but it is the coaches who are going to bring it to the forefront with or without the creator of the system. In most cases, there will be hybrids of the MPFL system developed. That is ok too. There are flaws in all styles,no different here.Maybe you can be the next great creator and work the kinks out.Can anyone tell me who created option football? Most cannot, but how many teams use it as part of their offensive attack even in modern football.I bet those old single wing coaches up in the sky smile and laugh when they hear of the newest rage called the "Wildcat".If you like certain aspects of the MPFL style use it.Do not cheat yourself because of a Bad first impression.I butted heads on this thread also, but I got past it to see the positive in it.If you have not done so,go check out the story on AB in the tweak. It helped me get a better understanding of who he is and what he is about.I also liked how he shared his Faith in God.Glad to know we are on the same team there.Cool to know he went to TC Williams. We are the Titans, the mighty, mighty Titans.Love that movie.Show it every year in my classes.Anyway, just my 2 cents.--STT

Default Thanks STT

Some times it is hard to get people to understand what is in you're head and try to type it on this board.

Many tend to take away what they want out of what is written instead of taking it all in.

To me studing the Bible has tought me to seek after the understanding and not add to or take away from it.

When we ( Humans) don't understand something we relate it to what we do understand and 9 out of 10 we will be wrong.

I have come to understand that what we take as being hard, rude, etc is just a way of saying " Hey I don't understand you ".

It is okay to not understand because you can get the understanding, however there is everything wrong with not understanding and not wanting to understand.

I would hope that guys stop talking about the past and lets move foward. I want this area to stay on track and keep the posting hear on a positive note.

I know that some are still playing EF and that is fine but I don't want to bring EF in this area as it may be taken the wrong way. That is why I will always say " This is not EF ".

MPFL is the main subject, learning, teaching, helping, growing nothing more

Love you guys

Default No problem!

I got out of MF a few years ago due to job, life, ect.Due to customizing and painting figs,I have gotten back into stay. When I left the hobby a few years ago,you were touting your style.I saw the positives then to it.A coaching buddy of mine and I were playing then and we were just lining them up and letting them go.Fun,but....here were 2 pretty good guys at X's and O's and not being able to show that. Now,coaches can use their strengths even X's And O's knowledge. In my HS league we are going to teach the basics of MF and get to the MPFL style as much as we can.I want them to also learn the game within the game.If I was teaching a football 101 class, what a great tool. The positive attitude about the system and how we deal with others who are curious will go a long way.As Christian men we have to keep God first and then all will take care of itself.STT
