Default Another SB Ending Like The Last Two Might Kill Me

Hello to all of my fellow coaches in miniature football. I hope that all of you are doing well.

As my post says the ending of the last two Super Bowls were not for the faint of heart. However if the ending to the 2010 Super Bowl is anything like the ending to the 2008 and 2009 Super Bowl then I am not sure if my heart can stand it. To begin with I must salute the Arizona Cardinals because I did not expect them to play as well as they did. Actually, no pun intended, but I expected Arizona to fold like a deck of cards after the 100 yard interception TD return by the Steelers that ended the 1st half. Then I just knew it was over when the Steelers went up by 13 points. One thing for sure and that is the recent Super Bowl trend continues. The last five Super Bowl winners have been the Steelers twice, the Pats, the Colts, and the Giants. What do the last five Super Bowl winners have in common ? They have all worn the white jerseys representing the visiting team. Last year it was David Tyree that made the play of the day. This year the WR's on both teams could have made the play that brought home the Lombardi Trophy. Unfortunately only one team can win. As with last year I am glad it was the team I was pulling for. As I mentioned earlier I just hope the 2010 Super Bowl does NOT end like the 2008 and 2009 Super Bowls. I don't think I can take anymore of this (smile).

For the third quarter, it seemed like that was going to be the case, the way the Cards allowed those three penalties which handed the Steelers 37 yards gratis and a second set of downs inside the ten on their big drive. Had Pittsburgh gotten a TD out of all that, it might have finished Arizona right there. But making that last goal-line stand and restricting the Steelers to 3 was big. That's what gave Kurt Warner his chance to rally his team for those two brilliant drives which put them temporarily in the lead, during which it was Pittsburgh's turn to make stupid penalties and put themselves in the hole —especially with the end-zone holding which chalked up a safety.

And then it was Big Ben's turn to mount a rally and he did.

It was a nail-biter for those last five minutes of the game.
