Default MFCA's newest member.

Hello everyone my name is Mike Veliky. I live in Boonton NJ and have been playing EF for 40 years off and on. I have played nothing but my own solitaire leugue for all this time. I am currently in my Super Bowl 44 playoffs.

I started playing in 1967 with my first Tudor board the NFL 500 model which featured the Packers and Colts. This game had one of my favorite scoreboards of all the models I owned. Remember those thin dark blue and gold team names. They were great even though they were hard to take care of. The fever was on.

Soon after I got my game I showed it to my buddy down the street and before long he had his own game, the Tudor model 600 I believe with the Giants and the Browns. I was jealous because he had a bigger field than mine but at least we shared each others teams and played for hours upon hours.

I remember ordering my first team from Tudor. It was the Cowboys ( I'm a Cowboy fan ) in their dark uniforms. I think a team cost about $1.50 back then. Imagine that. I saved my allowance every week until I had enough to buy another team. I was a fanatic over this game. I started lookig for odd jobs to earn extra money so I could buy more teams. I remember weeding this guys garden for a whole day and made 10 bucks and immediately bought like 8 teams. After about a year I had every NFL team in both their home and away uniforms. Then came Super Bowl 1. I remember buying the Chiefs and Raiders as my first 2 AFL teams. We used to play the AFL teams with the NFL team that most resembled it. Then the 2 leagues merged and their were more teams to buy. I can't tell you how many game boards I had but my favorite was the NFC 620 with the light blue endzones. That is my brief history for now. I will continue my story in future posts. Thanks for having me. My nickname is "VK" so you all may refer me as VK. Thanks for having me and taking a look.

Default Welcome aboard Mike

Like Al said, you might not believe your eyes when you start to see how this game has been advanced.

Feel free to post some of your pix. Don't hesitate to ask.
Your story sounds like many of us. What brought you back, how did you find us?

Hi Mike,

Greetings to you my friend. My name is John but I am better known on the chatboard as Coach J. You are the newest member of the MFCA and this is also your first post. So let me be one of the first ones to say welcome to the MFCA chatboard. You have come to a great place to get your miniature football questions answered.

As has been said previously many of us first played this game when we were children and found it again as adults. Like Al said the hobby has evolved at least 180 degrees since we played as children. Do not be shy when it comes to asking questions because I am sure you will have many. I noticed that live in New Jersey. Try to find coaches in your area who can act as mentors and show you the various ways that the hobby has evolved.

Have a good day, feel free to ask any additional questions, and again welcome to the MFCA chatboard.

John aka Coach J

Default Welcome

Welcome VK,

I too started EF back in 67 with a 500 then a 620 the next year. I truly cannot remember why I stopped around 1970 because I so enjoyed the game. Wish I never did stop, but I'm back now (Jan 09) after 40 years and just joined a league down here in Ga.

I think you'll thoroughly enjoy this chatboard.
