It's a Recruiting Bonanza!!!!
I preface this by saying "I understand everybody is not interested in a stadium and those are not the people I am trying to reach".
I always tell people, if you don't have a stadium, you should not advertise a stadium! You probably should not take them to the FF.Net website and tell them this is a part of the game. Sometimes, when you are recruiting people into your league, if you show them things that you have no interest in having or even getting, it will definitely be false advertisement. I once had a guy who had an NFL team wanting to do a show of him. A week before the show, he asked me if I could send him a stadium so he could show the NFL. He wanted it free but in turn, I would get major publicity from the NFL. I guess a sucker is born every day. On that day that the sucker was born, it must have skipped over my birthday! Anyhow, the show did not happen and the guy could never get up momentum to do what he wanted to do in his region of the company. No one knows the kind of work, years, and experiences it took to create the marketing bonanza called the stadium. Some folks just think you should give the work away and just let them copy it. I sometimes think it is a curse to do all the things I do because it can never fully be appreciated. But a recent customer of mine gave me hope that in some pockets, it can and is appreciated for its value. He marvels on how cheap I sell my work. I told him this will soon pass for I will eventually leave this area. I tell him, "I just want people experiencing the game the way I do". I put that battlecry out for 15 years on these sites and the time is coming very soon to let that go. But in the mean time, this customer just purchased an Alltel Stadium. These are his words and usually I never share the customer's intimate thoughts. But this is what I have been trying to tell the potential stadium owner for so many years. This is from Coach J. David Theus (Jacksonville, Florida) Reg, You will not believe this. One of my friends was riding by the house and I flagged him down to show him my stadium. He got very excited about that and the players I was painting. He said he has a friend that has started up a community paper and that he would probably love to do a story on this. So he is going to get in touch with him this weekend and you may get your advertizing out in Jacksonville sooner than you or I thought. He also said the Jaguars would probably let me set up the stadium on a game day outside the real Attell stadium and pass out flyers for a league. Anyway, I may be gettng ahead of myself but I was thinking that if you were to make a flyer about your business and building stadiums, I could run them off for you and pass them out at the first pre season game against the Dolphins. It might give you some more business and I would be returning the tremendous help you gave me on the phone this morning. I will keep you posted. David |

I Concur
The same thing is happening over here in Kasierslautern Germany. Initially I had two to three individuals involved in our weekend games. Once I introduced more people to pics of the stadium (The Linc) they were completeley shocked Many of them brought up memories of how they tried to create their own stadiums and how amazed of the fine details put in from exit rows, seats, varying colorschemes to jumbotrons/stadium lights Now Im loking at five more additional recruits and looking to get more when I display it at our weekend gaming bazaar. The stadiums attraction speaks for itself

This is my line of work
and sometimes people try to copy what I do.
I prefer not to give all my secrets due to the sacrifices I have made with cutting off fingers, stitches, etc. That is all a part of the blood, sweat, and tears aspect of what I do. Not trying to be rude to anyone but this is my business. I've given so much to the community freely which in many instances, have hurt me. The stadium is one of those things I will not share as I have given people many opportunities to learn over the years but none felt the stadium was that important to the value of the game. I do plan to stop making stadiums or showing my work here pretty soon because this is really proprietary information. I had always wanted guys to experience what I do from playing in miniature stadiums but I am honestly more agitated when I see guys come over to my home and I see work quite similar from renderings in my home. Thus, I have stopped letting people come to my home because it is proprietary information. It took much blood, sweat, and tears to create the stadium. Just an honest comment on this one, Reg |

Coach, one of the real reasons Geno and I...
settled on OKC is because of you!!! Have you ever heard of recruiting? Geno and I have talked about you extensively about either you being a part of the DFW League or the Tornado Alley League.
At least from a CBSMF perspective, we see you as a real potential recruit for Geno's Big 12 conference and wanted you to be there helping, asking questions, and being a part of the Rivalry weekend. So we are very happy to be coming to OKC to meet you. There are two other guys from the OKC area that I will be contacting to come out and watch as well. So as we get closer, stay posted online. You can always give me a shout out at (817) 654-4146. Reginald |

I'm addicted to Geno's TDQ Reg!?, I get hot from time to time from 35 yards out, the easy passes, well, let's just say, I miss those faster than I would a distance throw lol. I even had " 2 " 13 point come from behind Victories with accurate passing in the second half after settling down lol..But that was with some fella's around here who's now committing to get together and squabble every other week or so.. Just give me a 2 weeks notice so I can let my boss know, i'll be missing in action that weekend... Last edited by ivsoptionsondeck : 06-01-2009 at 12:03 AM. |

Reg,
I am one of those who do want to know how to make the stadiums however I knew better than to ask just out of respect as to the work that you have put in to your craft. I hope I am able to get one of your stadiums before you get out of it. Your stadiums are one of the things that really intrigued my interest in the hobby again. Part of me hopes you will continue your work for a long time.I can understand however if you decide to move on. Keep up the good work. raiderhp
