Default Agenda item 2-Officer term limits

Since I seem to have a couple of peoples attention, I figure I would go for broke and pop up another agenda item for this years business meeting.

Whether you are aware of this or not when March, 2010 comes, I , Will Travers, Mike Guttmann, Matt Culp and John Merida are out of work as MFCA officers. This means we need to have an election around January 2010 or so.

Is anybody interested in running for office?

I, just speaking for myself, will not accept another term as President even if I could and the bylaws say I can't. Now, I would consider one of the other positions if asked to serve but it is important to put new leadership in from time to time.

This is your chance as members of the MFCA to voice your opinions on the direction of the MFCA by voting when the election comes up, but it also means we have to have quality people who want to and are willing to put in the time.

Anyone interested in serving as an officer should email me at weirdwolf@weirdwolf.net so that we can discuss what the jobs require.

Is there any discussion on the bylaws and term limits?

I ask this so that we can speed up the annual meeting and have as many voices input as possible prior to that day.

I really believe the by-laws should be re-written in the matter that all officer positions shall remain occupied by the current officer, that is until;

a)There is a challenge for the position, in which the current officer may either step down, or debate for the position in which there will be an election

b)The current officer choses to vacate the position totally, either by accepting an different position within the MFCA or stepping down totally

c)The MFCA officers feel that an officer is not performing up to expectations, or feel that certain actions are effecting the MFCA and it's members

This is of course my take on the topic.
