Default GREAT MFCA CONVENTION 2009

Not much has been posted yet about the converntion yet so I felt the need to get the talk going...it was a great time!!! Thanks to the MFCA leadersip for organizing such a great event, these guys work so hard to pull off this event without asking for anything in return. It was great to see old friends and to meet new ones. For those who couldn't make it we missed you and you should know that the atmosphere was great, we had a nice turnout, and it was an all around great time. We all came together at the Stearns Center (a local community center) for all the games and activities but we were all dispersed in various hotels and some stayed at the Stearns Center. Socializing is the number one activiy at the convention, and many people got to see the Pro Football hall of Fame and google over all of the figures, boards, base, etc. Being able to watch the CBSMF was really cool and to be able to get board time with people from all around was priceless. I want to encourage all new comers to the MFCA convention to bring your teams to scrimmage! The coaches challenge is a great way to get on the board with some of the veterans and they will help you with your teams to help bring them up a notch...that is what the MFCA is all about. The MFCA is such a positive association and this event doesn't disappoint. What a great time! My only regret was to not stay untill Monday morning.

A big thumbs up for the MFCA convention.
Joe

Wow,
Yes indeed, what a time. My first venture to an MFCA event, with my 22 year old son Robert(which by the way spending 5 days with him on vacation was priceless) and what a time we had. From the moment we got off the plane in Chicago on Wed, spending Wed and Thur with Jimbo and Michigan Joe, EFL'ing till almost 4AM, and then taking the 6 hour drive with my son and Michigan Joe to the MFCA convention was something I'll never forget. A trip in which Joe and I talked EFL, our college experiences, and many other things along our 6 hour journey, the trip seemed real short. Then we arrive in Canton and things only got better. WOLF,WILL,MATT, and all who helped make this convention a success I truely appreciate the efforts you put forth. National a special thanks to you for hooking my son(ROBERT), up with those enshirnment tickets, he enjoyed the ceremony a lot. He truely took a liking to you. It was a treat putting names to faces, and fellowshipping with my brothers in the hobby. Reg a special thanks to you my friend for putting forth the effort you did in making the first ever CBSMF a success. K_LO our tweaking session with Mark Francis is something I'll never forget, tweak sessions with great tweakers like yourself are priceless and it was an honor and a priviledge to hook up with you in the coaches challenge. Steve Martin your everything Michigan Joe told me you were and more, our time on the board I'll remember for a long time. To all coaches I met(I'm real bad with names),this weekend, and many of you I have met previously I say thanks for being a part of this great event, and making it something that I'll always remember. Hats off to all my brothers for making The 2009 MFCA convention a success. So you'll soon! The Road Trips Have Begun!! The Cuban Assassin is coming!

Default A great time!

Joe, it was a pleasure seeing you again. Sorry I did not get to bang plastic with you but you look like you got quite a bit of time on the boards. I'm sure we'll hook up soon.

RD, it was a pleasure finally getting to meet you and your son. I'm glad the two of you had a great time.

People that I enjoyed seeing or meeting for the first time; Joe Greco (what a great guy), RJ and Dru...you two are funny as h3ll. You kept me and my gal in stitches, not to mention just a couple of friendly, great guys. Lynn, we still cool dude. You are a major lynch pin in the foundation of this hobby. Take a break when you need to...but you can never leave. K. and E. Boddie, if you're ever this way then we gotta hook up...BUT NO SHOPPING, ERICKA! Bob "Artlax" Slate, would love to sit down with a beer and talk football with you man. CorEy, I always bow down to the "National" one. K-Lo, man I wish I had more time (and more money) to hang wth you dude. You're a wealth of information. I've gotta get you on the board one day so I can whip you with your own strategy. Matt, Will, TVChachi, Franny-J-boy (Stay away from sharp objects dude), Adrian Baxter, Chris Markham, Chris Fields (thanks for the sweet figure dude), Big Phil, Mantaray Dre, Bruce "Mad Scientist" Watts, Celo and Mike Turner, Al Durham, Jerry, Optimusprime, Frank Johnson, and on and on and on...

From one (former) rookie to another, Doug S. (Texas Tech), great game man. You've got some talent. I'm gonna figure that offense out and look you up for a rematch. Congrats on a successful run.

To Mike Robertson, a great coach and even better human being. Congratulations on being the inaugural CBSMF Champion.

To Reg and Rose, thanks for the warm greetings, the kind words (and for putting Leslie to work on Championship Sunday). You two made both of us feel right at home. Reggie, you've started something great. I understand if you choose to pass the baton and walk away. You had the dream, you've put it into motion, and now it's up to the rest of us.

To my homies from the Big 10, Jim, Tookie, Greg, Steve, Ken (and those that could not make it...Norbert and Chuck), thanks for taking me under your collective wings and helping me become competitive my first year. You all made it truly enjoyable. It felt funny being treated like a little brother when I'm probably older than most of you. Me and Marty are gonna go practice up so we can surprise you guys in the Great Lakes. TELL 'EM MARTY...ONE OF Y'ALL IS GOING DOWN!

My apologies if I've missed anyone as that certainly was not intentional.

LONG LIVE THE CBSMF!

Default Detroitchild, we definitely ...

enjoyed hanging around you and Leslie as well. Rose and Leslie got along really well which makes it much easier for us to be able to hang out.

We look forward to seeing you all in Texas in the near future.

Default Detroitchild, "The Family" is coming to Texas

and we have made y'all official members of the family!

Somehow, Zeek, Kevin Boddie, Dru Sparks and a few others have already told me they are coming to Texas for a weekend of footballing and knowledge. I have no idea when this is suppose to take place but "Onionhead and Teresa" will probably come up from Houston.

We've got this place that Mozeek is dying to get to called the Studio Movie Grill but we can't let Diva Boddie get back to it because he thinks this place is for talking instead of watching movies.

Y'all need (you and Leslie) need to come hang out with us!

Reg

Thanks for the show RD. It was indeed a please to sit and share some good times on the "Board". Tweak sessions are always fun when it's an open forum, as we both found out, there is so much more to learn about tweaking then we thought we knew

It always warms my heart to see the father/son combos on these trips. It takes me back to when mine would run with me....

Default MFCA 2009, Thank you

The Fanara boys made it home safely on Monday fresh with new MF/EF memories. Here are my top ten from a great MFCA Convention.

1. Zwei anziehende Mädchen von Deutschland, at the tailgate party and HOF game.
2. The tailgate party brought to us by John Martin and Dan, with CorEy in charge thank you.
3. Working with my EF brothers, Lynn, Matt, Adrian, Will and Mark at the HOF Kids event.
4. Attending the HOF Enshrinement with my son.
5 Attending the HOF Game with my son, and seeing Morgan Scotts cousin make an interception in the game.
6. Meeting and spending time with RD’s son Robert from Texas
7. Seeing my 16 year old son hanging with other EF sons
8. Seeing our latest MFCA HOF inductees get recognized for their lifetime achievement in EF, Mike Turner, Bill & Mark Klingbeil.
9. Taking in the College Bowl (shootout Rules) Tournament and meeting the Mike Pratt from the West, Mike Robertson. He was playing refing, organizing and helping other competitors while competing himself.
10. Seeing last year’s MFCA HOF members and all my old friends in the hobby.

Thanks MFCA, and thanks to all who came to enjoy the fellowship, competition and HOF events.
