VARSITY !!!
As i sit here winding down from watching my sons first Varsity football game i wanted to post and share the enjoyment .
2 days ago i had a chat with my son while tweeking some bases about this game comming up. he told me, "Dad, i dont think i am big enough or strong enough to play varsity"  he was worried about getting blown off the ball by bigger or stronger guys, which always cracks me up.If you have ever met my son you would know why i say that, he is 16 yrs old, 6foot2 and 180 pounds. not exactly small himself. and he is STILL GROWING Well the game opened up with his team causing a fumble on the opening kickoff in which my son was in on the recovery.  In the second quarter he split between the guard and tackle ( he playes defensive end) and sacked the qb for a loss,  the whole game he had 6 tackles and one sack and never got blown off the ball as he had feared. Man i was a proud pappa tonight, first varsity game, first varsity sack, and although his team lost 27- 14, he proved he could stand up to the big boys and keep his head on.

his varsity career is off to a good start.
